Daniela clutched at a lifeline: "My stomach hurts. Sebastian, please, take me to the hospital."
Sebastian didn't need her to tell him her stomach hurt. He wanted to know why.
A cold, chest tightness, nausea, he could understand.
But why a stomach ache?
Daniela moved her lips, gritting her teeth, "My period came."
Sebastian's face instantly turned ashen.
He drove Daniela to the emergency room himself.
Sebastian sat on the hospital bench, still unable to believe that one day he would experience the feeling of dysmenorrhea.
Just thinking about it made Sebastian's face darken even more.
He stared intently at the closed emergency room door, wishing he could burn a hole through it.
Inside the emergency room, Daniela was almost gasping for breath.
"Doctor, I'm six weeks pregnant. I got into a fight with someone last night, and my stomach hurts really bad."
When the doctor saw the bruises on Daniela's mouth and body, his face immediately turned serious. "Domestic violence?"
"Is that your husband outside?"
Daniela opened her mouth slightly and quickly shook her head. "It's my husband, it's not domestic violence."
Which woman who came to the hospital at night with injuries didn't say that?
"You're pregnant, how could he hit you!"
Daniela was speechless, she could only say, "He doesn't know I'm pregnant, he just said it was dysmenorrhea, and asked the doctor to keep it a secret."
The doctor looked at Daniela with even more pity. "Don't worry. I'll call the gynecologist right away."
"Don't worry too much, the baby is very strong, you have to have faith in it."
Daniela managed a weak smile.
The doctor added seriously, "In your situation, I suggest you file a police report for your injuries."
Daniela nodded slightly. It was what she wanted to do anyway, she couldn't just be hit by Andres and do nothing.
The doctor finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Sebastian was in a meeting, but had to interrupt it when Daniela suddenly had a stomach ache.
He received the results of the meeting on a call from overseas.
When he returned after taking the call, he found doctors and nurses coming and going, looking at him oddly.
Some even hid and whispered behind their hands.
He was always composed, but until he accidentally overheard two nurses talking in the stairwell, veins popped out on his forehead.
"He looks decent, but turns out he's a domestic abuser, what a waste of a handsome face!"
"Yeah, right! His wife is so beautiful, she looks like a sweet and gentle girl, how could he do that to her?"
"Hey, do you think his wife will divorce him?"
"Domestic violence only happens zero times and countless times. I say she has to divorce him!"
One of the girls sighed. "It's hard to get divorced, you see, look at the patients we've received in the emergency room at night, how many of them got divorced after being beaten for the first time?"
Daniela came out of the emergency room and saw Sebastian with a face almost as black as coal, and immediately trembled with fear.
Domestic violence just got real.
The doctor stopped Daniela and said, "She is a patient now, family members should be more caring."
He meant to say: "Men should go out and earn money to support the family, that's the real skill."
Sebastian's forehead popped with more veins. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Daniela was also black with anger, and quickly pulled Sebastian away. "Thank you, doctor. It's late, we're disturbing you."
Then, without giving the doctor a chance to speak, she pulled Sebastian away.
The doctor shook his head and called out to them from afar, "Get more bed rest after you go back, and watch your diet."
When they were far away, Daniela let go of Sebastian's hand and explained, "The doctor saw the bruises on my face and misunderstood."
"No matter how I explained it, he wouldn't believe me."
Sebastian finally noticed the bruise on her mouth and frowned. "Flores Family people did this?"
Daniela turned her face away and murmured a soft, "Yeah."
Sebastian snorted. "Sofia said her parents are nice, what did you do to make them attack you?"
