He always said she would regret it.

Whether she would regret it in the future was unknown, but now she regretted answering his call. Since she couldn't completely block him, she would still answer every time, even if she ignored one or two calls. But the next time he called, she would still pick up.

With this happening repeatedly, Camille's patience was wearing thin.

She was already considering changing her number. Even though all her contacts were on this number and she worried about friends or clients not being able to reach her, she couldn't stand Preston for another second.

Camille took a deep breath and questioned, "What exactly did the Simpson family do to you? What did the Simpson family do to make you slander them repeatedly? Now you won't even spare an elderly person. Preston, you keep seeking attention from me. Since you like attention so much, can you please explain clearly? What exactly did the Simpson family do to you?"

Camille's relentless questioning naturally made Preston lose his composure. He shouted hoarsely, "The Simpson family ruined my life. They destroyed me. Why should they get all the benefits? Why does everything good go to them? The Simpson family got everything by stepping on others. Everyone in the Simpson family should face retribution, they all deserve a bad end."

Preston was extremely agitated. Although Camille couldn't see him, she could feel his intense emotions through his voice.

Every word he spoke was filled with resentment towards the Simpson family, as if they had committed some unforgivable crime.

This wasn't the first time he had shown such disrespect towards the Simpson family, which naturally made Camille deeply unhappy. She coldly replied, "If the Simpson family really did such things, why haven't the law and police held them accountable? Or is this all just your imagination?"

If the Simpson family really did such terrible things, why didn't he use this to create trouble for them and Simpson Group?

If there were truly such serious issues, someone would have known once it was exposed. But from the beginning of Preston's targeting of Simpson Group until now, all he had done was create baseless trouble for them. If Simpson Group had really harmed him or his family, he could have presented evidence. This is a society governed by law, anyone who does wrong must pay the price.

Camille took a deep breath. She didn't want to listen any longer and ended the call, blocking his number.

She tossed her phone onto the coffee table, making a slight noise.

Sienna, sitting on the sofa nearby, looked at Camille with a slightly concerned expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

Camille pressed her lips together and said hoarsely, "Nothing."

Her face was particularly cold as she picked up a glass of water and drank most of it, but her mood remained terrible.

She sighed silently, her expression very cold. Sienna didn't disturb her during this time. From the bits of conversation she overheard, she could understand how bad Camille's mood was.

Camille sat in silence for a while before speaking softly, "Preston said he did all this because the Simpson family wronged him and took advantage of him. Do you think that's true?"

Camille's tone was so calm it was almost devoid of emotion.

Sienna wasn't surprised because she had heard Camille mention "taking advantage" to Ayan earlier.

After thinking seriously for a moment, Sienna said, "I don't think it's true. If the Simpson family really took advantage of him as you said, people have memories. Not everyone could have forgotten or died out, right? Could it be that only he knows about it and no one else?"

Camille didn't respond because she also thought Sienna made sense.

That's what she thought too. If the Simpson family really did such things, why didn't others know?

Could the Simpson family's influence be so vast that they could cover up everything?

She didn't believe it. After all, there's no such powerful person in this world, there's no wall that doesn't let wind through.

So Camille didn't believe Preston's words. She thought Preston just liked to make a fuss, he was like this before and still is now.

Camille's silence made Sienna visibly worried. She asked softly, "Camille, why aren't you saying anything? You don't believe Preston, do you? I'm telling you, Preston is just that kind of person. Don't trust him, he has no real skills, just self-deception."

Sienna told Camille, "If you're really worried about something, I'll ask Rex when he gets back tonight. We just had our wedding and are still newlyweds, we talk about everything."

Sienna's earnestness made Camille smile. "As if he wasn't like that with you before."

Seeing Camille smile made Sienna relax because she had been genuinely worried when Camille looked so serious earlier.

The two exchanged glances, and Camille spoke softly again, "I don't believe Preston's words nor do I distrust the Simpson family. I know what kind of people they are and what kind of person old Mr. Simpson is better than anyone else. If they had really done something wrong, they wouldn't be able to stand tall now. You can see through people's hypocrisy at a glance after spending so much time with them."

Camille didn't want to respond to Preston's harsh words because they were truly unpleasant.

Especially his words about old Mr. Simpson, if he had said them in front of her, Camille might not have been able to hold back from hitting him.

Even if he was a man and she couldn't win in a fight, she couldn't just sit there and listen to him.

Camille pressed her lips together tightly and took a deep breath before looking at Sienna and saying, "Don't tell Rex about this, otherwise, he'll tell Ayan. I don't want him to know. He's already stressed enough with grandpa's hospitalization making headlines."

Sienna nodded. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. My lips are sealed."

Camille smiled.

Because of this incident, Camille lost all motivation to work.

Preston really had a foul mouth.

She couldn't even describe her feelings of anger and dissatisfaction towards Preston. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She couldn't help but wonder if Preston had some misunderstanding about the Simpson family and old Mr. Simpson.
