“To breach our servers.” Vince’s voice was ragged, the realization settling heavily on his shoulders. His face held a dawning horror that was striking to watch.
“What did you say?” Garith turned to Vince, puffing out a breath, clearly disoriented. “Why do you look like that? Why does it matter?”
Everyone turned to Vince, seeing what Garith meant. Vince was pale, excessively so; sweat beaded on his forehead, and his hands were clenched into fists. “Our servers…” His heart pounded in his chest.
“I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, Vince. What the fuck is a server? EXPLAIN.” Garith’s anger flared, his aura surging outward. Everyone trembled; I had to force myself to kneel.
Vince stumbled closer, clearly affected by the Alpha’s power. “My server, the one Rick managed.” Garith waved his hand dismissively.
“You’re still not making sense.”
“The brotherhood members, our plans, the kill list—EVERYTHING WE’VE PLANNED IS ON OUR SERVERS!” I watched Vince unravel, forcing my lips into a thin line to suppress a smile.
Garith pushed himself up from the pew. His voice was low. “What do you mean?”
“I had Rick create a private server for my pack. No one could hack into it; it was completely isolated. It was designed so no one outside the pack house could connect,” Vince rambled. “I had everything backed up there—all our plans, the hideouts, the attack plans. EVERYTHING.”
Garith’s eyes flashed, and he raised a hand. “Let me get this straight. You took all our conversations and…typed them out?” Vince swallowed and nodded. “Then you put them on your unhackable server for safekeeping.” Vince nodded again. “Then how did my granddaughter gain access?”
Vince turned to Brandon, who looked as if he’d seen a ghost. His voice was a whisper. “I asked my dad to hire her.” His mouth opened and closed. “She was going to be my mate…and she’d just graduated with a degree in computer science. I figured Rick could use the help.”
Garith let out a growl. “You were fucking her sister! What the fuck do you mean she was supposed to be your mate?” He kicked Derek’s dead body, earning a giggle from Lynn. “Did you think she’d just accept you fucking an unranked wolf?” Garith whirled. “But Rick would have stopped her, right?” Vince’s hands trembled as he stared at him. I watched Garith’s eyes narrow. “Right?”
Vince dropped his head. “Rick went missing…”
Garith kicked Derek again. “And you waited until now to tell me?” He roared into the night. “Are you fucking serious?”
Brandon flinched. “It’s fine. She probably didn’t get in.”
Garith whirled, confronting Brandon. “You don’t think the girl who spent three years studying computers and then came to work for this pack got any information?” Brandon shook his head.
“Even if she knew how to hack—which I’m sure she didn’t—there’s no way she bypassed the security features Rick implemented.”
Verity snorted. “The man who went missing when Amy left? You still don’t see how Amy might have gotten past your security?”
Her father turned on her. “You knew?”
Verity held up her hands. “Vince called me when Rick went missing. We activated the contingency plans.” She glanced at Brandon. “His entire family is dead. But I didn’t know they gave her the keys to the front door.”
Garith rubbed his head. “I’m surrounded by fucking DUMBASSES.”

Rowan laughed, dropping his head against the pew. “You really are.” Garith growled, but Rowan held up a finger. “Let me sum it up. Amy returned from her first life, already knowing you were her mate and that you’d cheat on her with Shannon. She went to her father for the truth. She had magic, learned to shift into Nix, and purposefully studied computer science at Gavin’s suggestion.” He turned to Vince. “Gavin knew about your private server and needed someone inside to access it. She spent three years mastering computers and hacking, then convinced your idiot son she loved him, using her past life as a template. She came to work here, delaying the mating ceremony for seven or eight months while learning your system.” Rowan chuckled. “She saved those people—Rick, his family, the omegas—so you couldn’t use them against her after she stole your information.”
