Chapter 792:

This boy… Herodis growled, shaking his head. He really has a poor opinion of his old man.

He heard Daemonikai’s laugh—low, yet kind. “Don’t worry, young Dale. I value your father’s friendship with my treasure. But you can still teach him; there’s no shame in a son instructing his father.”

Herodis heard the firm pat of a hand on his son’s back, followed by the retreating footsteps of the King.

A few moments later, the door swung open, and Dale entered, his face flushed.

“One of these days, they really will kill you, Father,” he whispered.

“But it doesn’t matter. The Great King has given me permission to train you to become a better version of yourself.” He pointed at his chest with his thumb. “So now, listen to my instructions.”

Herodis raised an eyebrow. “I will, huh?”

Together, they stared at the door through which Daemonikai had passed.

“Damn,” Dale finally muttered in awe. “He’s even cooler in person.”

Herodis chuckled. “On that, son, we can definitely agree.”

There was laughter.

A serene lake.

A gentle breeze stirred the grass along the shoreline.

A man lay beside the water, a woman at his side, her face veiled in shadow.

Voices floated through the air, soft and indistinct at first. Then they became slightly clearer.

“My dear lord,” the woman said, her voice beautiful and gentle as the breeze.

She was calm and full of affection.

The man pulled her into his arms. “My dear lady.”

They embraced for a long moment.

“I want to ask you a favor,” he said. “But promise me you won’t get upset.”

“I can’t promise that. I need to know what it’s about first.”

The woman sighed—a sound that carried both happiness and sorrow. “Alright. You know I love you.”

He sat up, looking at her. “Now you have me worried. Yes, I know. Now ask.”

She hesitated. “Promise me that if our bonding ritual fails… you won’t fall apart.”

He shook his head slowly. “I can’t promise that, Tiara.”

Aekeira’s eyes flew open. She was breathing hard, gasping, unable to catch her breath.

The door opened a second later. “Aekeira?” Lord Vladya filled the doorway with his presence.
