I said nothing else about it and went to find Jake with the drink he was supposed to be getting me. I found him in the kitchen talking with our friends. I hated the way graduation ended. It wasn't how I expected today to go.
"Is Lana not here?". I asked.
"Her and Pete are coming soon".Lacey smiled."You look amazing by the way".
"Thank you". Again,I felt Jake's handon my lower back. Maybe he was just letting me know he was there. Alanna had yet to say hello, butlexpected as much. Our relationship was a little icy at the moment. Could say we were having a small clash.
I knew it would sort itself out or at least I hoped it would. She was leavingMonday, and I didn't want her to leave on bad terms. We were going to be family after all.
"You, okay?". Jake whispered in myear.
"I thought you were getting me adrink?". I turned in his embrace and smiled."Can we leave soon?".
"We can leave now if you want?".
I shook my head."In a little while after I see Lana and hopefully Ryan appears". I still found it weird that he asked me to lunch and then cancelled.
"Okay baby you just say the wordand we're gone". He grabbed me a bottle of water from a nearby ice bucket."Unless you want something else?".
"Waters fine". I turned back aroundmy eyes connecting with Alanna's. I smiled she smiled back nodding towards the living room."I'll be back I'm going to talk to Alanna".
"What a shit day it's been". Shecollapsed onto the sofa while I took the chair.
"I'm sorry for acting the way I did". Ispoke.
"It's not you I just thought this daywould have been different. I expected more, I thought I would have been more excited than I am".
"I cried the whole time, and I don'teven know why I was crying".
A laugh fell from her lips."That'll be your hormones. You and Jake doing, okay?".
"We're fine we'll always be fine. I mayhave overreacted today, but I still stand by my opinion, but I don't want to talk about it anymore. I'll deal with whatever your dad decides".
"I hate the bitch Leah and I agreewith you but-…”.
"It's not your decision I get it".
"We're cool though?".
"Always now have you finishedpacking?". I asked.
"Almost I'm a little excited aboutmoving to a new place. I'm trying not to be a negative Nancy and who knows maybe this will end up being the best thing we ever do".
"I'm glad". I grinned."You deserve tobe happy you both do".
"And we can always visit". She added."We'll talk all the time".
“I want baby updates". She grinned.”Ineed to know how my nephew is doing".
I rolled my eyes but couldn't hide my smile."You'll get the shock of your life if it turns out to be a girl".
