“Eat, why don’t you want to eat?” Redmond was annoyed because Iris refused to eat. She needed to eat something, because tomorrow would be a long day and if she fainted. on the
way, it would be him that was hard pressed, since no one here would care enough about her.
At least, that was what Redmond was thinking. He didn’t know that it would be so hard. to take care of this runt and he still cursed the alpha for taking her with them in this long journey. He still didn’t know what was in his mind.
“I don’t want to eat that, I want to eat this. This is enough,” Iris said, clutching to her hard bread. She would be satisfied only with this. The sight of a whole roasted rabbit before her eyes terrified her.
However, Redmond still couldn’t get it.
“I feel like I am taking care of a five year old child,” he said in exasperation.
“You don’t need to take care of me!” Iris was frustrated and scared, thus she became angry when he persisted to her refusal.
He was the one, who made things difficult, but why it was her, who was called childish?
“Whatever,” Redmond said angrily and turned around, but he left the roasted rabbit near her legs, it was a whole rabbit, with its head angled weirdly to the side, which only made Iris mortified even more.
She scrambled away from the dead rabbit, she hated Redmond for not taking it with him, knowing she was afraid.
But then, it was Will, who came to her while bringing a plate with him.
“What?!” Iris couldn’t help, but snapped, tears on her eyes when she saw the plate, she thought this man would force her to eat as well, but what she saw was different.
It was actually shredded roasted meat and the look was not as terrifying as the whole rabbit that Redmond gave to her.
“Here, you must be able to eat this, right?” Will knelt down in front of her and let her saw the meat. The smell wafted to her nose and it looked tasty. “You need to eat. We will be in trouble if you fell sick.”
Slowly, Iris accepted the plate. She thought, she could eat this…
“Hha! What is that? It the same meat, but she accepted his, but not mine?” Redmond

was askance.
“Are you competing?” Avid, one of the warriors chimed in, but Redmond glared at him. and continued to eat his snake brashly.
After Will gave the plate of shredded rabbit meat to Iris, he took the one that she abandoned and gave it to the alpha, because it was his portion that she ate.
When the night grew darker, they took turn to stay on guard and Ethan took the second turn after Will. He sat down near the mouth of the cave, but once he was sure everyone had fallen asleep, he shifted into his beast and left.
The cave was a little bit dark because the bonfire had died out a moment ago.
Cane opened his eyes when he felt the gamma left his post. His expression was unreadable, but there was a surge of anger in his dark eyes.
He stood up and walked toward the cave mouth before he shifted into his black wolf. His fur made it hard to see him in this dark night, under the canopy of the trees. He knew where Ethan was heading and he was sure what he was going to do there.
It didn’t take long before he heard the uproar in the distance, which only made the black wolf quickened his step. He glided through the darkness and rushed between the trees like an arrow. It was only the black wolf’s golden eyes that could be seen.
His hunch was proved right, the group of five savages were being attacked by a brown wolf ferociously. Needless to say, it was not a good battle, since the wolf was simply outnumbered.
The savages were the hybrid. They had a figure like human, but their height could reach two and half to three meters and their strength could be compared to the shifter, as most of them resilient to magic. They could communicate like human, but their intelligence was not better than a child. They were driven by their lust and their hunger.
Once hunger strike, they would eat anything before their eyes that they could reach. They even could eat their own kind. Yes, they were the cannibal type.
Gerald like this type of creature, as he would invite them over to the pack and give them nightmare and probably it could be said that Ethan had the most traumatized experience with them.
His anger rooted so deep within him, until he ignored Cane’s warning not to approach them.

Once the black wolf was getting closer, he could smell metallic smell of blood in the air. It was so thick, which meant there were a lot of blood there and an angry roar from the
wolf.
Two savages had died once the black wolf was there, but the brown wolf was not in the condition that he could fight the last three, yet the fire that was burning in his eyes didn’t dim even in the slightest.
Without second thought, he charged forward to the nearest savage and tore its limb.
Iris felt so cold, she was sleeping with only a thin layer of cloak wrapped around her body, the cold wind that blew through the mouth of the cave made her shivered, as she rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked around her to find it was so dark.
And now, she was not only trembling because it was cold, but because she was afraid of her surroundings. She breathed raggedly, as her eyes zeroed at the died out bonfire.
She was hyperventilating, as she clutched her chest painfully. She couldn’t think straight, but then her eyes caught a light flickered from her pocket.
