861 THE LUNA AND THE SERAFIM

"Cedric and Liam will come with me. Thiswill be the end of it," Abby said sternly. She felt so glad that her voice was not trembling, because her hands did.

"Are you defying me now?!" Elder Rose wasenraged. This was a humiliation, but Abby had not yet done with her.

"I am the Serafim. The council of elders arethe advisors for the Serafim." Abby gritted her teeth, her body was shaking. She couldn't feel her feet and was afraid she would collapse right there and then because of how overwhelmed she was when she finished her words."I must remind you again that all the decision is in my hand. You don't have any right to tell me what to do, let alone threatening me!"

This must be the first time for Abby to defy the elders openly in the public, in front of so many eyes of the knights.

Even the Holy Knights and the magic users from the Holy Kingdom were stunned to see how Abby did it. It already engraved deeply in their mind of how the Serafim had never denied any orders from the elders.

The three elders were shocked and they didn't have time to react when Abby hurriedly turned around and left the scene, but she didn't forget to get Liam and Cedric to follow her.

"Luna, what is going on?" Eron whispered toIris. "Should we go to?"

Iris glanced at the Elders and frowned. She seemed to be able to deduct what actually happened here."Ask someone to keep their eyes on the elders." Iris added one more.

"Tell Lou to come find me if he already hadmore information about the merchant from Karam continent."

"Yes, luna." Eron nodded and then he wentaway to get her order done.

Meanwhile, Zale followed Iris to go back to the west area, where Abby had waited for her in front of her bedroom.

Dean and Otis were still there, but the confusion on their faces were palpable.

"I need to talk with you," Abby said. She hadsent away Cedric and Liam and insisted to wait for Iris to talk about what happened. She had decided to take this path.

"This is already very late at night, let's talk inthe morning," Iris refused. She didn't care about the problem between Abby and the

elders. She had enough things to be worried about and the only thing she wanted right now was being with her mate.

After a long day and an interrupted sleep, she only wanted to lay down next to Cane and seek for comfort. She was tired and the last thing she wished to do was having a conversation with Abby.

"No. I want to talk about this now." Abby stillfelt so high, her adrenaline was in rush after what she said to Elder Rose, thus while she still had this courage, she wanted to strike a conversation with Iris.

However, Iris was having none of it. Her mate was behind this door, not even Abby could stop her from going to him.

"I said; in the morning," she emphasized herwords and took a step closer toward Abby. "You can defy the Elders as you like and

reminded them about their position as your advisor, but I am not. You don't have any right to demand anything from me. If you want to have a discussion about your situation, it will be on my term."

Otis and Dean were impressed about how strict the luna was. She didn't let her kindness to be used by other people and after everything, all the trouble that Abby and her knights put her through, how could you expect the luna would be nice to you and put your predicament above everything else?

Abby bit her lip, but before she could say anything, Iris had stepped aside and entered the room. She actually locked the door and told the warriors not to disturb her.

Seeing this, Zale grinned from ear to ear. The young boy didn't really like this Serafim, thus to see how his luna having

that attitude when she talked with the Serafim, elated him.

"Serafim Abby, I think the luna is right, youneed to take rest too, this is already very late at night and our luna needs to rest as well." Otis tried to smooth the situation.

"You can talk with the luna tomorrow, shesaid it herself, right?" Dean chimed in.

Abby didn't reply to them, but she walked away from the door. Once she left, Otis and Dean immediately grabbed Zale and interrogated him.

"What actually happened?" Dean askedimpatiently."Why the luna looked like she was in a bad mood?"

"What that commotion about?" Otis hadbeen very curious.

However, Zale didn't immediately reply to them. Instead, he made a bargain."I will tell you only if you agreed with my condition."

"Are you trying to take advantage?" Deanwas annoyed by this young boy.

"If you don't want to know, I will not forceyou."Zale shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

"What do you want?" Otis growled.

"Train me as a warrior. I want to be awarrior." The alpha taught him nonsense and all philosophy about being sneaky, because he couldn't train him personally, since he didn't have time. Therefore, this was the only way to get a proper training that Zale wanted.

"No way." Otis rolled his eyes.

"If you want to be a warrior, you need to askgamma Ethan or beta Jace."

Zale was not close with Ethan and Jace still looked upset because he had sneaked into the entourage more than once.

"Now, tell us what happened or we can askanother warrior..."

"No. You can ask them then." Zaleimmediately ran away before they could force him, leaving Otis and Dean annoyed beyond word, since they needed to ask about this to other warriors later.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Iris was laying down next to Cane. He was sleeping soundlessly, he was not even awake when Iris sneaked into his arms and kissed him a

few times.

"Ah, this is nice..." Iris snuggled against hischest and then fell asleep almost immediately.

Later in the morning, she was awake to find Cane's red eyes. It was not Cane.

"Lu?" Iris asked sleepily and Lu gave her akiss on the cheek. He looked tired and his eyes were sleepy, but he hugged her tightly.

Iris caressed his head and he made a noise, happy to be touched by her.

Cane must be very weak for Lu to be able to resurface, even though the lycan was not strong enough too.

"Hungry?" Iris asked. Somehow, she felt this

happiness to be able to take care of Cane, or... in this case Lu.

"Yes," Lu said sleepily, he snuggled againsther."But, I want a kiss first..."

Iris chuckled. She gave him a kiss on the forehead, as she patted his back."I will ask someone to get us our breakfast, okay?"

"Can't you just shout? So, you don't need toleave?" Lu didn't want to let her go. He was so weak and Iris could feel it.

"It will not take long," Iris coaxed him."I willbe right back."

"Don't want you to go. That ugly creaturewanted to suck me out," Lu whined with his eyes closed."Those old geezers didn't do anything."

"I will not let that happened, okay?"

"I am going to kill those wrinkled creaturesonce I gained my strength back."

"No, killing. Okay?" Lu grumbled, protestedthat he could end up dying again if he agreed with her, reminding how he died when Na forced him to promise the same thing, thus Iris added. "Unless they are actively trying to hurt you."

Begrudgingly Lu agreed."Okay."

"Now, let me go for a while, so we can eat."

"Okay."

With that, Iris got off the bed under Lu's red eyes, he didn't want her out of his sight.

There was nothing eventful that happened during this early morning, Lu didn't cause trouble too, because he was still battling his sleepiness, he was still too tired to stay awake for long.

Surprisingly, Abby didn't ask to meet with Iris in the morning even when the night came, everything was very quiet with Abby and the elders, as if what happened last night had never happened in the first place.

However, two days later, in the afternoon, alpha Derick and Cezi asked for a meeting again. They came with their decision and from the look on their faces, it seemed they had learned the depth of Kellan's craziness and what he had done to Arella and the three little girls.

The look of defeated was very clear on their faces. They looked like they had gone

through hell and back, especially alpha Derick. It was so hard for him, since he thought of Kellan as his own son and even looked up to him as the next king in this kingdom, someone righteous that would bring peace and make this kingdom prosper.

However, even a monsters and savages were more decent than him.

"I will step down from my role as the alpha,"Alpha Derick said."Cezi will take my place, he and the warriors will pledge their loyalty to alpha Cane."

Alpha Derick was too ashamed to even look at Iris in the eyes.

Currently, he and Cezi were inside Cane and Iris's bedroom. The alpha was still sleeping behind the curtain, but actually, in the past two days, it was always Lu, who occupied Cane's body.
