It was the first time anyone had dared to act this cocky on his turf. The kid had guts, that much was clear. If he could bring someone like that over to his side, maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
“You can have the bracelet,” Aloys said, locking eyes with Anthony, his words slow and deliberate. “But I have two conditions.”
“Let’s hear it.”
Anthony leaned back in his chair, looking like he didn’t have a care in the world. His eyes narrowed, dark and unreadable.
“First, I want the seven billion back.”
Give it back? Hans nearly rolled his eyes out of his head. Charlotte had spent a grueling ten minutes winning that seven billion, and now this guy wanted it handed over? The audacity was unreal.
“Second, I want that girl to fight in a boxing match for me.”
Hans couldn’t help but roll his eyes again, his fists clenched tight. Money and the girl? No one was buying that “boxing match” excuse. It was a setup, plain and simple.
“Do these two things, and the bracelet’s yours.” Aloys placed the bracelet in the middle of the table, then looked up at Anthony. “Think it over, Mr. X.”
“No need to think about it.”
Anthony crossed his legs, lounging in his chair like he had all the time in the world. He barely glanced at the bracelet before letting out a soft scoff. “I’m not doing either.”
Aloys and Rena had figured Anthony would refuse, just not this quickly. It was like he didn’t even realize how deep in trouble he was.
“Mr. X, you’ve been chasing after me for so long and even risked coming here tonight. Wasn’t it all for this bracelet?” Rena straightened up, chin tilted high, her tone pure ice. “Let’s be honest, this is barely a negotiation. You’re going to agree, whether you want to or not.”
Her lips curled into a sly smile. She stared right at Anthony, her eyes sharp and challenging. “If you don’t, you’re not walking out of here. You might not walk out at all.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, every bodyguard in the room raised their guns at Anthony. The whole casino was sealed off. Security was so tight, not even a fly could escape. Right now, they were in complete control. Anyone with a brain would know what to do to survive.
“Mr. X, you’ve got two minutes,” Aloys said, his gaze hard and urgent. “Give back the seven billion, and tell me where the girl is. Otherwise, you’re not leaving this place alive.”
“You want my life?” Anthony smirked, both hands braced on the table. There was something lethal in the way he moved, a cold flare in his eyes. “The only person in this world who gets to decide that is my girl. If anyone else wants to try, they’ll have to see if she agrees first.”
…
Elsewhere, Charlotte was behind the wheel, flying down the road. Adonis and Jackson sat in the back seat, gripping whatever they could, faces pale from the speed, trying hard to play it cool.
“Charlotte, Anthony’s definitely inside The Gilded Wheel,” Adonis said, tapping away at his laptop after hacking into the casino’s security cameras.
The feed showed dozens of bodyguards all pointing their guns at Anthony. His voice came through the speakers, clear and defiant. “The only person in this world who gets to decide if I live or die is my girl. If anyone else wants to try, they’ll have to see if she agrees first.”
Watching the video, Charlotte’s eyes flashed with a deadly chill. Jackson and Adonis both shivered. Someone was about to pay for this.
