Chapter 708 Do Not Hide Things From A Woman

"You seem to be treating Mercy Hospital as if it were your own domain now, don't you think? Kaylee is new to her internship here. Instead of guiding her through the proper protocols, you're instructing her to mimic your reckless actions," Corinna chided Colten. "Kaylee, just ignore him."

Kaylee grinned. "I'm aware. He's just teasing, though."

Corinna comfortingly squeezed her hand. "If you find his teachings lacking, don't hesitate to seek me out. I can offer you far superior guidance."

Colten bristled at her words. He swiftly drew Kaylee closer, shooting a stern glance at Corinna. "Don't even consider it. Corinna, Kaylee is under my wing"

Unfazed by his protest, Corinna addressed Kaylee directly. "Think it over. Would you like to join my department? I can teach you everything you need to know."

"We're not listening Pay her no mind, Kaylee," Colten insisted, shielding Kaylee's ears and guiding her away. "I'll be your mentor. Trust only me."

Once they left, Corinna couldn't contain her amusement, bursting into laughter.

Later that evening, Corinna intended to discuss Merrick with Andres, but it was approaching ten o'clock, and he had yet to return home.

Typically, whenever Andres worked late, he would call her. However, this time, he merely sent a short message.

Sensing something amiss, Corinna dialed Kevin's number.

"Miss Hudson?" Kevin responded promptly, setting aside his dinner and relocating to a quiet space to take the call.

"Have you wrapped up work for the day?" Corinna inquired. "Have you eaten?"

Kevin sounded puzzled. "I was just about to have dinner."

"I understand. My apologies for the interruption, Corinna said before proceeding. "It seems things have been rather quiet on your end lately. Has Andres been working late recently? I require his schedule for some personal arrangements."

Kevin suddenly grasped the reason for Corinna's call.

No wonder Corinna greeted him in such an unusual manner during their call. "Certainly, just a moment. I'll forward you his schedule."

"Thank you. Go enjoy your meal. I won't detain you any longer."

After ending the call, Corinna promptly received Andres' schedule from Kevin.

As she suspected, Andres had no appointments scheduled for tonight.

What could he be concealing

Perhaps it was because Andres typically provided Corinna with a sense of security that she didn't dwell on it when he didn't really work late and seemed to be hiding something from her.

Corinna requested Delphine heat up a meal for him.

Then she proceeded to call Andres.

After several unanswered calls, Corinna ceased her attempts to reach him.

Soon, Andres returned her call.

"Corinna, did you call me?"

Andres' voice sounded calm, but Corinna, lying on the bed, inquired directly. "You're not at the office. Where are you?"

"Ah, you figured it out? I knew I couldn't keep it from you. I'm currently in the underground chamber on the east side of the city."

He spoke with a calm demeanor, as if casually discussing dinner arrangements.

Corinna's heart skipped a beat, her expression morphing. "What are you doing there?"

Balancing his phone with one hand, Andres removed a glove with his teeth as

he responded, "I've apprehended someone. Don't worry. Everything's under

control. I'll return home shortly." Rising from the bed, Corinna declared, "I'm on my way. Who have you apprehended?"

Andres hesitated briefly and asked casually, "Have you had dinner?"

"I've already eaten and showered!" Corinna said, a bit annoyed. "Stop avoiding the question. Andres, who did you apprehend? If I hadn't sensed something was amiss and contacted Kevin to confirm your schedule, would you have kept this secret from me?”
