Lemira had heard the rumors flying around, courtesy of Susanna. Word had it that Lemira's boyfriend was broke, practically penniless.

Who would've thought Lemira's boyfriend was actually the heir to the Everhart fortune? If he was considered poor, then everyone in the room might as well be living on ramen noodles.

"Yeah, I can't believe he kept me in the dark for so long," Lemira sighed.

She knew that given Stella's connections, she'd definitely crossed paths with the Everhart family and must've met Orion at some point.

Lemira gave Stella a puzzled look. "Has Asher never met Orion?"

Stella shrugged. "I can't say for sure, but with different social circles, there's hardly any overlap. I only met him a few times as a kid, and then he just sort of vanished from my life."

Men like Orion, with his status and responsibilities, were always busy. If you weren't in the same high-flying circles, it wasn't surprising not to cross paths.

Stella paused. "As for your Asher, things between us aren't set in stone yet, and the Waverlies haven't publicized his identity. So, he wouldn't have been introduced to those circles."

It made sense that Asher hadn't met Orion.

Lemira nodded, understanding. She glanced at Stella, "But today I laid it all out for him, and we broke up. We weren't right for each other, and besides, he has a fiancée."

"He doesn't have a fiancée," Stella interjected. "Yesterday's headlines were bogus. The Sinclair family has been trying to marry their eldest daughter off to Orion for ages. While Mrs. Amanda agreed, Orion never did. All those rumors over the years were just that-rumors."

Stella looked earnestly at Lemira. "You might question my character, but you can't doubt the intel I've gathered."

Lemira chuckled. Stella, being Ms. Waverly, had credibility in her words.

She stared at the floor. "Even so, the gap between our worlds is too wide. I don't want to struggle that much." Updates are released by ⓝovelFind.net

Being with Orion would mean facing a lot of hurdles. Plus, he hadn't been upfront about his identity from the start. What was he afraid she'd do?

Lemira preferred not to dwell on it, lest she end up hurting herself.

"But from what I've gathered over the years, Orion is a decent, ambitious guy. If you truly care for each other, he'd sort everything Mrs. Armanda and Grandma Eileen are kind-hearted."

ut.

The thought of Mrs. Amanda, who'd always been so nice to her, made Lemira's heart sink a bit. She probably wouldn't be so fond of her now.

"Let's see what the future holds," Lemira said, trying not to overthink.

Stella quickly changed the subject. "Lemira, do you have any plans to visit the Langston family soon?"

"I'm free anytime, but have you given Asher a heads-up?"

Stella shook her head. "I haven't mentioned it, and I don't plan to."

Lemira understood Stella's strategy—a surprise visit to catch everyone off guard.

Though Stella seemed shy and reserved, she was evidently a determined young

woman.

Lemira raised an eyebrow. "But knowing Asher, showing up unannounced might tick him off."

Stella bit her lip, contemplating. "I'll text him later."

Just then, Lemira's phone buzzed repeatedly.

The notification came from the Langston family group chat. Evander had tagged everyone: "I've booked a table at Bistrova tonight. The whole family is invited to celebrate my engagement to Eve and discuss the wedding plans."

Engaged already?

Lemira glanced at the message and turned to Stella. "Want to join me at Bistrova

tonight for some family drama?"
