Orion's tone was frigid. "Mrs. Draven, you're mistaken again. Lemira didn't seduce me. I was the one trying to seduce her."

Lemira nearly choked on his words.

How could he say something like that out loud?

Mrs. Grace Draven was finally speechless, but she still muttered under her breath, "Well, they're all Langstons. What kind of decent daughter can they produce? Raised without parents, no wonder she has no manners."

Hearing this, Lemira's face instantly hardened. "Evelina isn't my parents' daughter. She was adopted."

Mrs. Grace Draven shot back bluntly, "It's all the same, isn't it? What's the difference?"

"There's a huge difference."

Orion's eyes grew colder. "My girlfriend's parents raised her, not Evelina. Of course it's different. It's like if Mr. Draven had an illegitimate child outside of your marriage.

You wouldn't have raised him, so would that be the same?"

Orion's direct mention of an illegitimate child made Mrs. Grace Draven's face change color.

But she didn't dare say another word. The matter of the illegitimate child was a huge embarrassment, something she was trying to handle quietly. It would be a disaster if it became public.

"Yes, yes, you're right, it's different. It's always different when you have a man to protect you."

Mrs. Grace Draven said sarcastically, unwilling to concede defeat.

Orion's gaze turned even colder. "Then perhaps you should reflect on why Mr. Draven doesn't protect you? Is it because you secretly targeted his illegitimate child and arranged a car accident to try and kill him?"

As soon as he said that, Mr. Draven, who had been hiding in the background, finally rushed out and started yelling at his wife. "So you really did arrange that car accident, you venomous woman!"

"So what if I did? Does that bastard child of a mistress deserve to be part of the Draven family?"

Mrs. Grace Draven screamed back.

The middle-aged man slapped her across the face, but she fought back immediately, and the two started brawling.

One spectacle had turned into another.

The Draven couple finally left in disgrace.

Lemira was stunned. She knew Orion was doing this for her.

She stole a glance at the man beside her; his profile was sharp and still incredibly handsome.

Mrs. Amelia stepped forward. "Orion, Mrs. Grace Draven has always been blunt. She doesn't mean any harm."

"Even if she doesn't mean harm, she should at least be able to understand plain English, right?"

Orion's tone was sharp. Any fool could see he was there to defend Lemira

Mrs. Amelia's expression soured. She couldn't believe Orion was so protective of this little nobody.

He knew their families had discussed an engagement. Was he trying to slap the Sinclair family in the face?

Though she was displeased, Mrs.

Amelia kept a smile on her face.

Lemira looked at the famous Mrs. Amelia and could tell her relationship with Orion was different.

The next moment, she heard Mrs. Amelia say to her, "Ms. Langston don't you agree? It's your friend's birthday party, after all All these little Incidents aren't good for the atmosphere."

Lemira knew the Sinclairs were all cut from the same cloth.

Still, she had accomplished more than she'd set out to do today, so she was quite satisfied.

Lemira smiled and nodded. "You're right."

Stella immediately chimed in, "I don't mind at all, and I certainly don't blame Lemira."

In fact, she was grateful to Lemira for what happened today.

Mrs. Amelia smiled knowingly. "I know you're all good kids."

Mrs. Waverly, however, turned to Orion. "Mr. Everhart, is this Ms. Langston really your girlfriend?"
