"Tsk, you'll see when you get there. Make sure to bring Asher and Evander."
Lemira hung up without another word.
Listening to the dial tone, Lucian put the pieces together. They had definitely found her.
She was at a nightclub?
His greatest regret in life was agreeing with Asher to bring that toxic parasite into their home.
Now, it had driven a permanent wedge between the actual siblings.
That evening, Lemira and Stella set out for the club.
Caleb was driving again. In the back seat, Lemira turned to Stella. "The name of this place sounds weirdly classy."
"She's hiding out working here. How classy can it really be?"
Stella had zero sympathy for the girl.
After they parked, Lemira and Stella walked toward the entrance. It was still fairly early in the evening.
The bouncer at the door eyed them up and down. "A bit early, aren't you? The clientele hasn't even arrived yet."
Lemira frowned. "Excuse me?"
Caleb stepped forward immediately, his face carved from granite, a terrifying, murderous aura radiating from him.
The bouncer instantly snapped his mouth shut.
Caleb turned slightly. "After you, Ms. Lemira."
With her chin held high, Lemira gave the bouncer a disdainful scoff and walked in.
Only then did the man realize these two were wealthy patrons with private security clearly high-society heiresses.
Moments later, a manager scrambled over to Caleb, bowing profusely. "Boss, I apologize, the new guy didn't know who he was dealing with. Please forgive the offense."
Caleb remained expressionless. "Just make sure the arrangements I asked for are handled."
"Absolutely, handled perfectly. I'll make sure that trash is brought straight to you." The manager felt a twinge of regret. The girl had only been there two days, but she was incredible at stroking male egos and was already bringing in top revenue.
He had wondered why someone with her skills was slumming it here. Turns out she had made some very powerful enemies.
Inside the VIP booth, Stella let out a breath. "I really hate places like this. It's disgusting."
Lemira cast a thoughtful glance at Caleb. He seemed remarkably familiar with the underworld scene.
When Caleb met her eyes, she quickly looked away. Honestly, a man like him was perfectly suited to keep Stella safe.
He clearly heard Stella's complaint as well, his eyes lowering as he mentally cataloged it.
A short while later, the Langston brothers arrived.
The moment Asher saw Stella, his brow furrowed in severe displeasure. He turned
to Lemira. "Why did you bring her?"
He already knew Evelina was working as a hostess here.
Regardless of the circumstances, she was raised by their family. This scandal would be a catastrophic humiliation if it got out.
The last thing he wanted was for Stella to witness their family's utter disgrace, yet Lemira always seemed hell-bent on defying him. It was like she existed solely to torment him!
Lemira knew exactly why he looked so sour.
And yes, it was entirely intentional.
She spoke with icy precision, "Stella helped track her down. She's not an
outside so why shouldn't she get to
enjoy the show?"
Asher nodded stiffly. "I'm glad you see it that way. Stella will always be family to us."
Lemira nearly gagged at the sheer narcissism. She had never met someone so utterly delusional.
Stella looked equally repulsed. She pointed at Caleb. "He's the one who found her."
Lemira glared at Asher. "Stop trying to force a connection. No one here has any desire to join your family!"
Asher shot the bodyguard a wary look.
This guy found Evelina? That was impossible. He had used all his resources and come up empty!
What kind of connections did a mere bodyguard have?
He scoffed coldly. "Stop lying. Orion obviously pulled the strings for you. Let's not waste time-where is she?"
He was going to shatter her legs tonight.
How dare she humiliate him by working as a cheap hostess!
