At the time, she had seen Orion with Mr. Alfred and assumed he was there to bail out Mrs. Amanda.
She hadn't realized she had completely misunderstood him.
Lemira gripped her phone tightly. "Okay. When are you free?"
"Later. Around eleven."
"Got it. See you at the entrance of the remand center."
After finishing the call, Lemira hung up.
She looked at the bare trees nearby and pulled her jacket tighter. The temperature had suddenly dropped.
Lemira then called Lucian Langston, telling him to bring Evelina to the remand center on time.
"Understood. I'll arrange it right away," Lucian replied.
Asher Langston's voice drifted over from the background. "Did Orion really agree that easily?"
His words carried a sharp sting of skepticism.
Lemira's voice dripped with sarcasm. "What else? Did you think everyone is like you -breaking promises and constantly moving the goalposts?"
Asher's face twisted in anger, but Lucian decisively hung up the phone.
He glared at Asher. "Asher, can you stop talking to Lemira like that from now on?"
"What did I do? I'm her oldest brother! Can't I say a few words? You know exactly the state the Langston Group is in. PZ Group's subpoenas are being mailed directly to our house. What are we supposed to do?"
Thinking about it, Asher glared furiously at Evelina. "And you still want money? You embezzled so much from the company, and your father squandered it all. You owe the Langston family for the rest of your life."
Evelina lowered her head, not daring to speak. She couldn't deny the embezzlement.
If the Langston family decided to press charges, she would end up in jail too.
Lucian frowned. "Enough. The most important thing right now is getting Hale to hand over the evidence so,
Mrs. Amelia gets the dence so
punishment
she deserves."
Asher finally fell silent.
Evander Langston spoke up. "Caspian and the others are coming back. Their flight lands tonight."
Evelina looked up, a gleam of hope in her eyes. "Is Rowan coming back too?"
Evander nodded.
"Of course. What
happened to our parents is a
massive deal; everyone is coming back. So you better pray your father behaves and hands over that
you know exactly how bad Caspian's temper is."

Remembering Caspian's volatile anger, a cold sweat broke out on Evelina's back. She looked at Evander anxiously. "How is Caspian's facial reconstruction going?"
If Caspian's face couldn't be fixed, given his personality, he would absolutely never let her off the hook.
Evander shook his head. "I'm not entirely sure, but with how brilliant Rowan is, it should be fine."
Evelina breathed a sigh of relief. She desperately hoped Caspian's face would heal so she could escape his wrath.
At the entrance of the remand center.
Lemira was the first to arrive. She sat in her SUV, unconsciously checking her chat with Orion.
Sebastian knocked on the car
window. You're early. Where is
Orion? Does this guy have nonet
sense
of time? Give him call and rush*** him. Don't tell me he backed out."
"He wouldn't. It's still five minutes to eleven. He's not late yet."
After she spoke, Sebastian leaned against the window, bending down to look at her.
"That tone. Are you defending Orion? Didn't you two break up?"
Lemira turned her head, her gaze locking directly with Sebastian's.
She suddenly felt a sense of déjà vu. Back outside Mrs. Waverly's villa, she and
Orion had kissed in a remarkably similar position.
Suddenly, Sebastian reached a hand toward her. "Don't move."
This exact moment was captured perfectly in Orion's line of sight.
