Chapter 474:
He hovered the dropper over the cream.
Click.
A tiny sound. Like a shutter.
Zhang froze. He looked around. Nothing. Just the towel rack.
He didn’t see the tiny lens hidden in the ornate tissue box holder. Kim had ordered the spy cam online, disguised as a makeup palette, delivered to a P.O. box she managed under a fake name.
Zhang shrugged. He squeezed the dropper. The toxin hissed faintly as it hit the cream, mixing in. He stirred it with a toothpick, ensuring it was invisible.
He left the bathroom, smiling.
That evening.
“Kim!” Zhang called. “Time for your treatment!”
Kim walked into the bathroom. Her heart was hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. She had watched the feed on her burner phone. She knew.
She picked up the jar.
Zhang leaned against the doorframe, watching with a predatory grin. “Go on. Don’t be shy. Put a lot on.”
Kim opened the jar. Her hands were shaking.
“I feel clumsy today,” she said.
“Just do it!”
Kim lifted the jar. Then, she deliberately relaxed her fingers.
SMASH.

The jar hit the tiled floor. It shattered into a hundred pieces. The cream splattered everywhere, mixing with the glass.
“You idiot!” Zhang roared. He lunged forward, slapping her across the face.
Kim fell back, clutching her cheek. But inside, she was smiling.
“I’m sorry!” she cried, playing the part. “It slipped! I’ll clean it up!”
“Leave it!” Zhang screamed. “You useless cow! Now I have to get another one!”
He stormed out.
Kim locked the door. She quickly scooped up a sample of the poisoned cream into a plastic bag. Evidence.
She pulled out her phone and sent the video file to the encrypted address Aurora had replied with.
In her office, Aurora watched the video. Her face was a mask of cold fury.
“He tried to melt her face off,” Aurora whispered. “To win a bet.”
Elias stood behind her, his eyes dark. “We have him. Attempted grievous bodily harm. Domestic abuse.”
“Not yet,” Aurora said. “The police will arrest him, he’ll make bail, and he’ll claim she tampered with it herself. He has the best lawyers.”
“So what do we do?”
