A shiver ran down Marshall's spine, and his back went rigid. He sat frozen on the chair, his gaze fixed on the floor.

The terrible pain from the dream, the feeling of his body being torn apart—it was a horrifying sight.

The icy water, the biting wind, the agony of his heart, and the physical torment- those scenes devoured his soul.

It was too terrifying. Every time he clawed his way out of that nightmare, he woke up gasping, his skin slick with terror.

But here he was, alive and well.

He had also come to understand a simple truth: You can't reason with someone who won't listen until reality kicks them in the teeth.

After meeting Natalie, he felt as if his soul had been elevated.

He was incredibly clear-headed now. As long as he didn't let this vicious woman, Joanna, get her way, he felt he could live a long life.

"Heh..." Marshall let out a wild laugh, his vacant eyes regaining their focus. "Joanna, so you've been reborn too. But you've already missed your best opportunity. And I survived the day I was supposed to die. So, Joanna, this time, you will always be the one who loses!"

Reborn?!

The word struck Joanna's heart like a hammer.

In her dreams, there was also a faint voice, kneeling and begging for something.

The voice was too distant; she could never make out what it was saying, but the muffled sounds were filled with immense pain.

Child, lover?!

Those two words were repeated over and over.

So, the events in her dreams really happened.

Joanna stumbled back a few steps in disbelief, staring at Marshall's arrogant, handsome face. "Marshall, you..."

Marshall didn't know for sure if Joanna also knew about their past life.

But seeing the change in her eyes, he could tell she was different from before. The Joanna of now had a much darker gaze.

"Haha..." Joanna suddenly burst into laughter, tears welling in her eyes. "Marshall, if what you're saying is true, then the winner will definitely be me."

If Natalie hadn't ruined her plans, Marshall would be helping her deal with Natalie right now.

Marshall was a much better tool to manipulate than Maxwell.

Marshall quickly grabbed his phone and sent a message to Natalie.

[Natalie, I think Joanna might have dreamed about the last life too. She just threatened me with the same fate met in my dreams having my limbs mangled and left for dead. I noticed her eyes and her whole vibe have changed.]

How did he know?

Because he had gone through the same thing.

At that moment, Natalie was already in the elevator of Yves's company building.

When she saw Marshall's message, she didn't feel much.

If she could be reborn, and Marshall could remember bits and pieces of their past

life, it wasn't surprising that Joanna could too.

She was more interested in why she had been reborn.

Natalie: [Don't be afraid. She's at the end of her rope. If she wants to act tough, let her. Everything in this world follows a certain order. She's done too many bad things. Shell get what's coming to her.]

Reading Natalie's message, Marshall knew she had other plans in motion.

But he wasn't as optimistic as Natalie. He was terrified of pain.

He switched back to his news feed and saw the update about Maxwell being released.

Maxwell had been cleared of the murder charges.

~Who would do something so evil? Maxwell is my favorite!

~He's just a rich brat. You really think he's some kind of treasure?

Marshall didn't bother reading any more comments. Seeing how efficiently Natalie handled things, a gentle warmth filled his eyes.

He looked at Yves. "Yves, the situation with Maxwell has been cleared up. He didn't kill anyone. He's been released and should be at the company soon."
