Julian turned and saw Sebastian, then started walking toward him.
For the past few days, Sebastian had refused to answer his calls.
As a friend, he understood the pain Sebastian must be feeling after losing his company.
Since his calls never went through, Julian figured Sebastian was too embarrassed to show his face in front of his friends.
He had come tonight to talk things out with him.
"Sebastian, what the hell is going on? How did your company end up in Natalie's hands?" Julian asked angrily.
Maxwell Griffith looked at Sebastian's two friends and thought they weren't so sharp after all, unable to tell him and Sebastian apart. He didn't even need to consciously imitate Sebastian's every move; as long as he maintained that cold, unapproachable mask, he projected the same intimidating vibe.
"Julian, it's just as you see. I was tricked by Natalie. Now the Griffith Group is all hers."
His cold gaze locked onto Natalie, a malicious smile playing on his lips.
Natalie shot him a cool, indifferent glance. He was a terrible actor. She had really overestimated him before. "Mr. Griffith, I'm not one to be a scapegoat. Everyone at this party tonight knows you, so I might as well make things clear. That way, your two moronic friends won't think I stole the company, and you, being a sore loser, won't keep thinking I'm the one who robbed you, when it was your own damn behavior that cost you everything."
A dark, lethal fury burned in Maxwell Griffith's eyes as he looked at her. If it weren't for Joanna's stupidity, how could he have been cornered by Natalie?
Joanna glared at Natalie. If the whole story came out—that Sebastian lost all his assets because of a clause in the pre-nup that he triggered by cheating on Natalie with her how could she ever show her face in public again?
She and Maxwell had come up empty-handed, a fact that was a constant source of pain for her.
Even now, she couldn't believe that everything she had worked for had been for nothing, completely washed away.
And it was all because she was outsmarted by Natalie, the person she despised most.
Joanna stared at Natalie with a dark, resentful gaze.
Natalie caught her hateful look and treated her like she was thin air.
Maxwell Griffith didn't want to make a scene in public either. He said in a low voice, "Juffan, its not entirely Natalie's fault. The prenitiptial agreement stated that if I betrayed her, all assets would go to her."
"Don't bring this up again. I'll get you the partnerships you want later."
Julian was stunned. He looked at Sebastian, confused. The face was identical, the
presence the same, but it felt like something was missing.
"Sebastian this really isn't like you. You worked so hard and went through so much to take control of the entire Griffith family How could you just hand the company, over to woman like Natalie?" .net
"She'll run the company into the ground before the month is out. That's your entire legacy!"
Julian's face was flushed with anger, his eyes burning with a cold, frantic rage. After Natalie terminated their partnership, his family's business had suffered heavy losses.
Maxwell Griffith's gaze was cold, his voice deep. "What's done is done. There's no point dwelling on it. Don't bring it up again. I'll get the company back in a while."
No one felt more wronged or furious than he did He thought killing
Sebastian would mean he'd get everything Sebastian had, but the
Griffith family had arranged things in such a way
ay that all his schemes had
ultimately come to nothing.
Julian turned and glared coldly at Natalie.
Joanna chimed in opportunistically, "Julian, Natalie is incredibly scheming and hides
it well. You have to be very careful around her."
"She was able to outwit the entire Griffith family. She can outwit you and Adrian,
too."
Joanna's words added fuel to Julian's anger, and a murderous look appeared in his eyes.
