"She framed Natalie once. I didn't believe Joanna then, and that was the moment I was sure it was her. But I did nothing, just waited for Maxwell Griffith to appear."
Sebastian closed his eyes, his heart aching for what his mother had endured.
Sean lowered his gaze and shook his head gently. The man was truly pitiful. What would he do without him?
Aside from the old madam, his grandfather, and Natalie, there was no one he could trust.
"By the way, Boss, since Emily is Maxwell Griffith's woman, should we tell Joanna? Let them tear each other apart."
None of them were good people.
His Luna was the only pure one!
Sebastian shook his head slightly. "Not now. Save the video from earlier. We'll wait until they're more deeply entangled before exposing it. Joanna is genuinely in love with Maxwell Griffith. Let her taste what it feels like to be betrayed by someone she loves."
Sean replied, "Got it. I've already sent Brian Foster to investigate Emily."
Sebastian said, "Good."
...
Sebastian glanced at the video feed on his phone. This club was under his name.
Brian Foster had arranged everything in advance.
Everything in the lounge was under his control.
He rewound the video and saw Natalie's mischievous smile, so pure and bright. The corners of his lips lifted involuntarily.
After finishing her meal, Natalie found Dominic Hayes. "Mr. Hayes, I'll leave the rest to you. I'm going to head home and rest. Happy New Year in advance!"
Dominic Hayes, standing next to
Brian Foster, looked even more
distinguished you should go
You
Natalie. Happy New Year! See you next year!"
Natalie smiled dazzlingly. "To both of you, see you next year!"
Luna pushed Natalie's wheelchair away.
At the elevators, as they waited, a door opened, and a girl with disheveled clothes ran out in a panic.
When she say Natalie, she
frantically clutched the scant fabric covering her chest and looked at Natalie pleadingly. "Miss, can you help me? They were forcing me to drink to take off my clothes, and to sign a predatory contract. Please, help me."
Natalie recognized her. She must be Chloe Barnes, the top jewelry designer who was renowned in the industry in her previous life.
After winning her first competition in school, Joanna had signed her to the company.
If she hadn't seen her in person tonight, she would have forgotten such a person even existed.
Natalie looked at Luna. "Luna, take her to my lounge. Have Tyler bring up a change of clothes from my car for her. Quickly!"
Luna looked at her, worried. "But Natalie, I can't leave you here alone. It's dangerous for you here."
Natalie said, "It's fine. I'm safe here. I'll wait for Tyler. Once he comes up, we'll go to the lounge together."
Only then did Luna help Chloe to Natalie's lounge.
Shortly after they left, another elevator stopped, and a man stepped out, fuming.
"Damn it, Chloe got away."
Another man
an said, "It's fine, she can't
get far. Her family is hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and her father's addict. She has a gambling no choice but to sign this unfair contract with us. She can run but she can't run out of the school. Let's go report to Assistant Horace first. I'll go find her tomorrow. I'll make sure she signs with you."
The two men didn't see Natalie and took the elevator back up.
Natalie's eyes narrowed. Assistant Horace.
Could it be Joanna's assistant, Horace?
