Having her legs brutally broken on New Year's Eve, she felt as if she had fallen from the heavens to the depths of hell. The drastic change was almost too much for her to accept.

She used to be a shining star in everyone's eyes.

And now...

Her eyes narrowed, flashing with a sudden, lethal venom. She pulled out her phone and called Natalie.

Natalie was currently enjoying a delicious meal.

Both Keith and Tyler were excellent cooks.

Natalie was eating a spicy fish dish, as happy as a child.

She looked at Keith and the others, smiling as she praised them. "Keith, the three of you are getting better and better at cooking. This fish is so tender and delicious, and the lobster in savory sauce is amazing too."

"Oh, and here's the special New Year's dish. My grandfather always said it brings good luck and a long life, so everyone has to have a bite."

A faint smile touched Keith's handsome face. "Of course, Natalie. We'll eat plenty."

Tyler smiled. "Ma'am,, the cabbage is very sweet."

Ethan chuckled. "Tyler, I think you're the sweet one."

Luna looked at them all, her bright smile revealing perfect teeth. "With you all here this year, the dinner table finally doesn't feel so cold and lonely."

Natalie also felt the festive spirit. She was just about to suggest a game of cards for the evening when her phone, which was on the table, rang.

She picked it up and saw it was Joanna.

She was annoyed. What did this woman want, calling her at a time like this?

She answered the phone, and on the other end was Joanna's heart-wrenching scream. "Natalie, it was you, wasn't it?"

Natalie was baffled. What was Joanna freaking out about on New Year's Eve?

From the sound of it, something must have happened.

Well, well. Who had taught Joanna a lesson on New Year's Eve?

Joanna only lost her composure like this when she was truly furious.

"Joanna, what was me?" Natalie took a sip of her drink.

Joanna was enraged and ignored Natalie's question. “Natalie, you've ruined my

New Year's, so I'll make sure you don't have a good one either."

"Wayne is your older brother, right? I'll make sure he can never return to this country. That's the price you'll pay for messing with me."

"Pfft..."

Natalie couldn't help but laugh at the threat.

"Joanna, my brother's name is indeed Wayne. But are you sure your reach extends overseas?"

"Joanna, you may have your tricks, but do you know who Wayne is? Do a little digging, and you'll find out about his power abroad. You make a move on him,

on mand well see if your

company survives."

Threats were a game Natalie was also good at.

Natalie paused. Wayne was indeed very wealthy and powerful overseas.

What she had found out was only part of the story. There was another part within the country. Natalie was right it was foolish to act against someone without knowing their ful strength.

"Natalie, you should have died! Why didn't that car crash kill you?" Joanna's voice was sharp and vicious.

Natalie took a deep breath. It was New Year's Eve; she would not get angry. What had happened to Joanna to make her so agitated and malicious?

She wondered, had Wendy retaliated against her?

That didn't seem right.

Nicholas hadn't returned yet, and

Jerome hadn't recovered. Wendiet

wouldn't remake a move at this time. It puzzled her. What on earth had happened to Joanna?

Natalie spoke with a cheerful smile. “So, Joanna, are you directly admitting you

were the one who hired someone to run me over?"
