Natalie watched her walk away and smiled. Letting go of the resentment felt like a massive release. Finally, the suffocating knot in her chest had unraveled.

The anger had completely vanished. Holding onto that fury had been exhausting, and she fully intended to live a long, healthy life. She had zero plans of dying young in this lifetime.

Just then, Luna hurried back down the hall. Seeing Natalie safe, she let out a massive sigh of relief.

"Natalie, are you okay?"

Natalie looked slightly surprised. "Luna, why are you asking me that?"

Luna frowned deeply. "I was waiting outside the door when my phone alerted me that my car alarm was going off. Someone was smashing the windows. I ran down to the garage, and there was a guy trying to break in. He bolted the second he saw me. It was freezing out there, so I didn't chase him. I just called the cops, and now I'm waiting for them to handle it."

Natalie connected the dots instantly. "It was a diversion. They lured you away so they could eavesdrop on my conversation with Mrs. Scott."

"What?!" Luna slapped her forehead in frustration. How could she be so stupid? Why hadn't she seen right through it?

"I'm such an idiot. I can't believe I didn't realize they were baiting me."

Natalie's tone remained perfectly even. "It was Boris. We're in our own headquarters, so it's completely normal that your guard was down."

Luna was furious. "That little punk! He has a death wish. Nobody who works for a snake like Joanna ever gets a happy ending."

Natalie had always known Boris would betray Sebastian, and she had highly suspected he was on Joanna's payroll.

"It's fine. Don't tip him off. We'll play along."

Luna caught on. "Got it. I'll keep a very close eye on that bastard from now on."

Natalie nodded slightly. "Right. There's no rush. The best part of the show hasn't even started yet. I won't rest until I've completely destroyed Joanna and that pathetic excuse for a man."

She had never claimed to be a saint, and she thoroughly enjoyed watching a trainwreck unfold.

Oh... I can't wait for Joanna to make her next move.

Natalie smiled, utterly amused.

Luna caught the wicked grin out of the corner of her eye. She had been worried the reunion with Wendy

would leave Natalie heartbroken, but would leave

seeing her look so thrilled put all her fears to rest.

Luna wheeled Natalie toward the boardroom for her meeting.

Meanwhile, Joanna was pacing in a secluded alley behind the Griffith Group tower, waiting for Boris.

When she spotted him approaching, the chill in her eyes intensified.

Boris opened the car door and slid into the passenger seat beside her. "Ms. Scott, I overheard Natalie and Mrs. Scott talking. Natalie isn't your father's biological daughter."

"What?!" Joanna was completely floored. A woman as desperately devoted to Nathan as Wendy actually cheated on him?

Boris watched her process the shock. He was just as stunned. The sheer amount of drama in their circles was insane.

Once the initial shock wore off, Joanna let out a dark, mocking laugh. "So, what right does she have to point fingers at my dad? She's just as much of a whore as the rest of them."

Boris didn't know how to respond to that.

"That was all they talked about, Ms. Scott. They didn't mention anything else."

He had been standing in the hallway, sweating bullets, and had barely escaped being caught.

The reality was that he had been Joanna's mole from day one. He wasnt sure if Sebastian had caught onto him, but he was strictly barred from accessing any confidential files at the company.

He was only ever sent on mundane business trips where he couldn't get his hands on anything sensitive.

Joanna took a deep breath, suppressing her raging temper.

"Fine. Head back for now. Keep a tight watch on Natalie. I'm going to strip away

every single thing she has right now."

Boris gave her a long look and nodded. He strongly suspected Natalie already knew exactly who he was working for.

But...
