"Different people do different things for her. Especially those desperate for cash. With Joanna's backing, they experience a night-and-day difference in their lives. Because she secures the things they care about most, they naturally become fiercely loyal to her."

That was why she had played them all for fools all these years.

In all the years he had been with Joanna, he had never discovered her secrets.

He used to think Joanna was just a pawn Timothy Griffith used against him. He had kept her close, assuming a woman who only cared about fighting for his affection posed no real threat.

It wasn't until Natalie showed him those photos that he realized things were far from simple.

Only then had he truly woken up to how unbelievably naive his previous assumptions had been.

Sean took a deep breath. "Boss, we should head back too."

Right now, both of them were wearing masks.

That was the only reason he dared to appear in public so blatantly.

Sebastian gave a slight nod. "How are the arrangements with Mr. Wilson?"

He wanted to see Mr. Wilson's bold counterattack for himself.

"I've set him up with a place to stay," Sean replied. "I'm not sure what his next move is. He knows we're using him, but he couldn't care less. He's going to ride the wave and hit Joanna back where it hurts."

However, unexpected variables were always a possibility.

Sebastian wasn't placing all his bets on Mr. Wilson anyway. If Joanna was capable of swallowing a chunk of the Wilson family's assets, she was definitely prepared for the fallout.

Sebastian didn't say anything more. He just waved a hand, signaling Sean to push him back.

Tyler drove Natalie and Queena home.

Natalie told Queena to pick any room she liked to stay in.

But Queena hesitated.

Noticing her hesitation, Natalie laughed. "Queena, if you like my library, you can sleep in there. I'll be fine on my own."

Queena's thirst for knowledge had been sparked by Natalie's study-though calling

it a study was an understatement; it was basically a mini-library.

Queena grinned. "Natalie, you really know me best. Don't worry, I'll only bounce between the library and the guest room. I won't touch anything else."

Natalie arched an eyebrow, amusement dancing in her eyes. "I don't even know why I'm living in this huge place alone. It's better to have someCompany. Stay as long as you want I know the books in the library are tempting, but don't stay up too late reading. Get some rést."

Queena practically skipped over and pulled her into a hug. "Oh, Natalie, you're the best come over and have breakfast with you first thing in the morning. I checked the distance earlier-the two villas aren't far apart at all. I can just walk over."

Natalie's voice was light and melodious. "Sounds like a plan!"

Queena grabbed her suitcase and headed into the house to settle in.

Natalie called the housekeeper and had the maids put on fresh, crisp bedsheets so Queena would be perfectly comfortable.

Once everything was arranged, Natalie went upstairs to freshen up. Afterward, she limped over to her desk to work, messaging Herbert about their Al medical system.

Herbert: [Natalie, I've got to say, Caleb is a rockstar. With him on board, the startup protocols have been completely revamped. The precision is off the charts now.]

Natalie knew exactly how skilled Caleb was. It was a stroke of pure luck that she had run into him first that night.

Natalie smiled. No wonder Joanna had personally tried to recruit Caleb.

Natalie: [Herbert, I'll swing by

tomorrow morning to run some personal tests. Just keep a close eye out for Joanna's people. I'm worried she might try to plant a mole in the lab. With her track record she's definitely going to try and sabotage this.]
