The word "bastard" struck a painful chord in Natalie's heart.

So this was what it felt like to be called a bastard. It was suffocating.

Matthew frowned deeply, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.

Natalie, however, gave a bitter smile. "Nathan, don't forget, your precious biological daughter comes from the exact same background as me. You might want to build up some good karma for yourself."

"Watch your mouth, Natalie. Nathan is a wonderful man. You people are just taking things too far," Nathan's new wife, assistant Miller, sneered as she shot Natalie a look of utter disdain.

Natalie raised an eyebrow. "You're his new wife?!"

Assistant Miller clung happily to Nathan's arm, beaming with pride. "That's right! I'm his wife now. Your mother has zero chance of getting him back. Don't think for a second that just because Nathan is successful now, she can come crawling back. As long as I'm around, it's never going to happen."

"Pfft..."

Natalie burst into laughter. "Rest assured, you're the only one who treats a scumbag like a prize. Nobody is trying to steal him from you."

She turned her attention back to Nathan, marveling at how naive Wendy had allowed him to remain over the years.

"Nathan, what makes you think you could just effortlessly steal Mr. Wilson's entire empire?"

Nathan froze. Truth be told, even before Natalie said it, he had felt that taking over Mr. Wilson's assets had been way too easy.

Natalie tilted her head, giving him a knowing smile.

Matthew sat quietly across from her, simply watching.

Every move she made was mesmerizing, and every word she spoke proved she held all the cards.

"Nathan, everything you currently own is about to vanish into thin air. Mrs. Wilson deliberately let you take over her husband's assets just so she could completely sever ties with him and Sophia. And her endgame was always to leave you with nothing."

"That's the price of your greed. She used you, and she stalled her husband, simply to get her hands on both your assets and his without doing@ny of the hard work. She didnt do it for her son of hero. daughter. From start to finish, she only looked out for herself. She doesn't love anyone but herself."

A sharp pain pierced Nathan's chest. Natalie's breakdown made him realize with

terrifying clarity that he had walked right into Mrs. Wilson's trap.

Earlier today, Joanna had also warned him that Wendy hadn't actually gone bankrupt. Her financial ruin had been an act to force him into demanding a divorce,

and she had secretly transferred all her wealth beforehand.

As the crushing truth settled in, Nathan began to tremble violently. His knees buckled, and he nearly collapsed on the spot.

His new wife quickly caught him. "Nathan, are..... are you okay?"

Seeing him on the verge of passing out, Natalie's eyes danced with amusement.

Nathan's era of arrogance was coming to a swift and brutal end.

Mrs. Wilson had already left the country to vacation with her parents.

Which meant Nathan's karma had finally arrived.

She remembered Mrs. Wilson mentioning that once everything was settled, she would take her parents on a trip.

Nathan desperately tried to steady himself. Shaking his head, he forced down his rising panic and glared at Natalie with pure rage. "Cut the crap, Natalie I'm going to find Wendy and get back every cent she stole from me. She led to me during the divorce and hid all the assets. You knew about this the whole time, didn't you?"
