Wendy looked at Nathan with a faint smile. Seeing his shocked expression, she smiled happily and elegantly. "Nathan, you were wrong. My billions are still intact. Not only that, but the new company I founded has turned a profit of hundreds of millions of dollars this past year. I am the shining star you will never reach in this lifetime."

Nathan was stunned, staring at Wendy in disbelief. He knew she had an incredible mind for business; she was the golden girl her father had groomed from a young age.

How could he have believed her lies so easily?

It was because he had been terrified that those massive debts would leave him with nothing, which was why he had so decisively divorced her.

He had been scared off by the crushing debt.

"Wendy, to make me walk away from the divorce without a single cent, you orchestrated this massive scheme. You really went to great lengths," Nathan said, his eyes bloodshot with rage.

Wendy had played him beautifully, and he had fallen right into her trap.

Wendy scoffed. Looking at his pathetic demeanor, one would think he had suffered some grave injustice.

She let out a cold laugh. Looking at the sleazy Nathan, she only felt a wave of nausea. Once trust and love were gone between two people, every little thing became repulsive.

And right now, absolutely everything about Nathan repulsed her.

"Nathan, you spent most of your life scheming against me, but it only took me a few months to outsmart you. Not only did I make sure you didn't get a single penny, but I also left you groveling in the dirt."

"Look at yourself now. You used to be somewhat decent, but now? You're just old, ugly, and pathetic."

Nathan trembled with rage at her words.

It was as if his once-proud posture had been crushed by a heavy sledgehammer.

His lips quivered, desperately trying to form a defense. But it felt as though an invisible force was strangling him, making it impossible to utter a single syllable.

After a long silence, he finally broke down and yelled, "Wendy, no matter what, we shared a bed for over twenty years! No matter how much you look down on me, you can change that fart. You can't erase how good you were to me, or the love you once had for me!"

These were the only defenses he had left.

He was desperately trying to appeal to her sense of nostalgia and their past affection.

Hearing this, Wendy felt nothing but pure humiliation.

Her red lips curled into a cold smile, her gaze freezing over. "Nathan, I already told you. If I could, I would erase the day we ever met."

"If you hadn't pursued me so relentlessly back then, your life would have amounted to absolutely nothing."

"Well, I've said my piece. Since the two of you are so madly in love, I hope you have a wonderful life together."

Wendy paused, then added a parting shot. "Oh, wait! Look at my memory. I completely forgot that your unbreakable, undying love couldn't withstand the temptation of money. You two divorced ages ago and now Mr. Scott here has a beautiful young wife."

"Sophia, it looks like you're all alone

again. You've spent your whole life

relying on men without ever learning how to stand on your own two feet."

"As a woman, you're an utter failure."

With that, Wendy turned on her heel and walked away.

She paused in surprise when she saw Natalie near the doorway. Marshall was pushing her wheelchair.

"Natalie," she called out in surprise.

Natalie offered a slightly embarrassed smile. "Sorry, I just came to watch the show."

Wendy looked at her and smiled, an involuntary warmth tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Natalie, although I couldn't get full revenge for you, from now on, their lives are going to be a living hell."
