"Okay!" lan's gaze was gentle as he stared at her.

Natalie was busy organizing things and didn't notice his intense stare.

"Oh, right, lan, there's also a huge crab. I had a really hard time catching it last night. It even pricked my hand. Luckily, it didn't pinch me."

"After your grandmother is discharged, you should learn to swim. I can take you diving with me sometime."

"Okay! Thank you, sis!" lan's eyes were fixed on her injured finger.

It was just a small scratch, but to Natalie, it didn't hinder her at all.

The old woman was out for a check-up and wasn't in the room.

Natalie headed towards the kitchenette, and lan followed nervously behind her.

He had cleaned the kitchenette thoroughly.

Natalie lifted the lid of the electric pot and was hit by the smell of something burnt.

lan immediately looked like a child who had done something wrong. He whispered, "Sorry. I'm not very good at making soup."

Natalie smiled and scooped out the burnt contents. "It's okay. You go wait for your grandma. I'll make the soup. It'll be ready in about forty minutes."

lan asked excitedly, "Will you stay for dinner tonight?"

Natalie thought for a moment and said, "Sure. I'll cook. You go wait for your grandma."

"Okay, okay, I'll go wait for her. We'll be right back."

lan beamed at Natalie.

She was washing the pot. He watched her for a moment, then went to wait for his grandmother, a warm feeling spreading through his heart as he turned away.

After washing the pot, Natalie took out the lobster to prepare it, then began to cook dinner in an orderly fashion.

lan came back and stood at the doorway, watching Natalie's every move.

Her silhouette was lovely, and her movements were elegant.

When he saw her turn around, he quickly ducked back out of sight.

Natalie was focused on preparing dinner and didn't notice lan watching her.

An hour later, lan returned with his grandmother.

The old woman was delighted to see Natalie. "Ms. Sanders, you're here."

Natalie smiled and nodded. "Please sit. I've made some soup. Let's have dinner together."

"Wonderful, wonderful, that's great. Ms. Sanders, thank you so much. You're so busy, yet you still came to cook for us."

"I had some free time today, so I came to see how you were doing. I'm so relieved to see you recovering so well."

"Oh my!" The old woman's face was filled with gratitude. "Ms. Sanders, this is all thanks to you. Because of you, I'm healthy and can continue to look after our lan. If I can live, naturally want to live a few more years to see our lan succeedin his career, get married, and have children."

lan's handsome face turned red. "Grandma, you're very healthy now. From now on, you must rest well. As long as you're healthy, i'll take care of earning money. I'm an adult now. You can trust me, Grandma."

The old woman sat down happily. "I trust you, I trust you. Our lan is the best."

Natalie brought the dishes to the table. She had cooked a simple cabbage dish, as older people often prefer lighter food.

There was a bowl of soup and stir-fried cuttlefish.

lan hadn't eaten such a delicious meal in a long time. He finished every last drop of the leftover soup.

After dinner, the old woman lay down to rest.

Ian walked Natalie downstairs to get a taxi.

"Thank you for tonight. I ate so much." lan's smile was as pure as the moonlight.

Seeing him happy made Natalie happy too. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm heading back now You should go up and be with your grandma. Call me if you need anything."

Before lan could reply, a sleazy voice cut in, "Well, well! Ian, what a coincidence seeing you here."
