"That bastard Timothy has many mistresses. The woman he proposed to back then had a son and a daughter, both of whom are abroad and well-protected by him. There's someone hidden in the shadows, someone I've never met, who looks exactly like me."
"He will definitely return before next winter. But before he does, we must find out who he is."
Sebastian's eyes were dark with calculation. This was all part of a larger scheme.
Sean felt the task was simple enough. "Sir, if you make a move, you can definitely get the phone. The only problem is if Joanna has a second one. Her regular phone might be clean, while all her secrets are on another device."
They all had two phones. One for secrets, one for the world to see.
Sebastian didn't reply, just continued eating in silence.
Sean handed him a tablet. "Sir, I found something you might find surprising. Nathan is now living with that woman he had an affair with at Mr. Wilson's banquet. What's more, Joanna calls her 'Mom.' Is it possible that Joanna was Nathan's biological daughter all along, and they abandoned... I mean, your wife, to bring his illegitimate daughter into a life of wealth?"
Sebastian's movements froze. "Go get the bottom of it. I want you to investigate the relationship between Nathan and that woman right now."
"Get a paternity test done. As soon as possible!"
That man, Nathan, was a beast.
Sean replied, "Yes, sir! I'll have someone on it immediately."
Sebastian quickly finished his dinner. He took out Natalie's USB drive, plugged it into his computer, and began to review the contents. The more he saw, the more shocked he became. This was exactly what he wanted.
How had Natalie managed this, and right under his nose?
In that moment, he realized just how much he had overlooked about her.
He read through to the very end with intense focus, completely satisfied. In six months, it would be ready to launch. With this project the Griffith Group would reach new heights.
He glanced at the time. It was still early; Natalie wouldn't be asleep yet.
He removed the USB drive, erased any trace of it from his computer, grabbed his car keys, put on his coat, and strode out of the office.
After Matthew dropped Natalie off, he had returned to his own work.
Natalie was home alone. After a long call with Queena, she took a shower. When she came out, she went to the study. She was still furious that Sebastian had snatched her USB drive and threatened her.
She opened her laptop, picked up the glass of hot milk beside it, and started working on company matters.
After twenty minutes of intense focus, she saw that Keith had sent over a mountain of files. Her head started to spin.
She rubbed her temples. A lot of work had piled up over the past half-month.
Just reading through two emails felt like it had drained all her energy.
She took another sip of milk and suddenly paused. Who had heated this for her?
The butler and maids had all left for the night.
Natalie shot up from her chair and saw a figure standing in the doorway. She jumped, startled.
Bet
Her eyes widened. She looked from the figure to the hot milk on her desk and asked through gritted teeth, "What... what are you doing here?"
