Yvonne shot Lott an icy glare that could freeze hell over.

Under her deadly gaze, Lott immediately clamped his mouth shut. Ashley rushed in to do damage control.

"Everything happened so fast! We couldn't even process it. Our only thought was to run. Yvonne, we were just so scared of you."

"Fine, you panicked and ran," Yvonne said coldly. "But once you calmed down, why didn't you bring him back to me?"

Because before we could even catch our breath, you had already tracked down Dan Murray and mopped the floor with him," Shawn answered.

It was the brutal truth.

After they had dragged Xander away, before any of them could figure out their next move, Yvonne had stormed in and battered Dan.

Dan had just been minding his own business, playing cards. Who had he provoked? Honestly, looking back, they actually felt a little bad for him. He had taken a horrific beating for absolutely nothing. Thank God Yvonne had found a scapegoat to unleash her fury on. If she had used her brain and investigated properly, all of them would have been dead meat.

Yvonne scoffed. "So you all just decided to play dead?"

"We were hoping you'd assume we were already dead, so you wouldn't even have to bring flowers to our graves," Shawn admitted shamelessly.

Yvonne was speechless.

These idiots were never this united on a normal day. How did they always manage to sync up perfectly when it came to pulling off spectacular disasters?

"Look, Yvonne," Ashley pleaded, "let's call a truce. Promise you won't beat us up if you run into us on the street."

The mere memory of her pummeling Dan was enough to give them nightmares.

They continued pouring her drinks and serving her food, treating her like absolute royalty.

In truth, Yvonne's anger had already cooled. A lot of time had passed, and whatever fury she had left had been thoroughly taken out on Dan anyway.

She picked up Shawn's present. "I do like this gift, but aren't you a little cheap? You only bought one thing?" She glared at him in dissatisfaction.

Shawn froze for a half-second before his survival instincts kicked in. "Just tell me what else you want, Yvonne! I'll buy it. I swear I'm not cheap!"

Are you kidding? If buying her the moon meant she'd forgive him, he'd find a way to drag it out of the sky.

"That's more like it," Yvonne muttered.

Seeing her finally relax, the three men let out massive sighs of relief. Ashley and tott had been trembling: ever since they heard about Shawn's brutal mountain trek punishment.

Xander finally spoke up, his voice flat. "Alright, you can all leave now."

The issue was resolved. There was no need for them to stick around and ruin the mood.

Shawn blinked. "What? But we came to keep Yvonne company for dinner."

They were supposed to be apologizing. How could they get kicked out the second they were forgiven?

"What is there to eat? Do you even need to eat?" Xander shot back. "Just remember to pay the bill on your way out."

Shawn was utterly dumbfounded by the sheer ruthlessness.

Ashley and Lott, however, were quick to read the room. "We'll head out first, Yvonne!"

They dragged the oblivious Shawn

ret

out with them. Sticking around a second longer was just asking for trouble, one wrong word could her off again. Did Shawn seriously think he was going to get a pleasant dinner out of this?

The moment they left, Yvonne's phone rang. It was Skye.

"What do you want?" Yvonne answered.

"Yvonne, I'm going to have a sister-in-law!" Skye practically screamed into the phone.

Yvonne rolled her eyes. "..."

"She's the kind who shares her cake with me! She's just as sweet and adorable as Star!"

"Are you out of your mind?" Yvonne deadpanned.

Was this supposed to be a flex? What was there to show off? Yvonne had experienced Star's sweetness her entire life, and she had never acted this unhinged.

"Hmph, you're just jealous," Skye gloated.

This woman was truly out of her mind.

Skye had been so desperate for her brother to get married that she had

gone completely delusional,

bragging about a relationship that hadn't even officially started.
