Chapter 1064:

Triumph flickered in Stella’s gaze. “So you’re admitting it! You’re seeing someone else behind Wesley’s back. He likely has no idea you’re so dirty. Just wait till he learns the truth—he’ll be repulsed.”

That accusation was meant to cut deep, and Stella’s grin grew smug as she savored what she thought was her victory.

Elena, however, looked unbothered, watching as Stella flailed for something that would actually stick.

Once Stella finished, Elena arched a brow. “So, according to your logic, riding in a car with someone means you’re together? How many chauffeurs have you been with? You catch rides all the time, don’t you? I suppose by your rules, you have such a slutty side.”

“Who are you calling slutty?” A furious flush swept across Stella’s cheeks as she erupted, spewing threats. “Stop slandering me! I’m the mayor’s daughter. How could I have been with those lowlifes? If you keep talking nonsense like this, I’ll make sure you regret it!”

While Stella practically shook with outrage, Elena stood as cool as ever, not a trace of concern in her eyes.

Arching an eyebrow, Elena replied, “What’s wrong, Stella? I thought you were so sure about your rule—share a car, share a bed. I thought that’s how you go about things. It explains why you look at everyone through such a dirty lens.”

“You—” Words failed Stella as her hands trembled with fury, unable to find a comeback. After several tense seconds, all she managed was a weak, “I didn’t mess around!”

A casual shrug accompanied Elena’s answer. “Most people don’t jump to those kinds of conclusions. Maybe you’re different—hard to say what you do when no one’s looking.”

Frustration mounting, Stella lost all sense of reason and lifted her arm, aiming to strike Elena.

Elena couldn’t help but sigh, thinking that Stella really never learned her lesson. Every time Stella tried to get physical, it only ended up backfiring on her.

Before Stella’s hand could land on Elena’s face, it snapped.

“Ah!” A sharp cry broke from Stella as she grabbed her throbbing hand, eyes glassy with unshed tears. The pain was so intense that her skin dampened with sweat, and her jaw clenched against the ache.

With a burning glare, Stella cradled her injured hand and spat venom at Elena. “Just wait and see! Wesley already has an agreement with my father. He’s about to become my husband, and when that happens, I’ll see to it the Harper family loses everything!”

Word had it from her own father that Wesley was planning to pop the question soon, and Stella relished the thought of joining the Spencer family and taking down the Harpers.

Elena’s eyes turned icy. Her reply was cutting, her tone like ice. “What did you just say?”

A smug tilt lifted Stella’s lips. “Surprised, aren’t you? I’m the one Wesley’s marrying! The Spencer Group’s got problems, and only I can fix it. In return, Wesley will give me half of the company shares as a wedding present. Give up whatever fantasy you have about marrying him.”

Fresh from her return to the Azure Dragon Unit Base, Elena hadn’t caught wind of any of this. Whether Wesley was really marrying Stella to save his business, she had no way of knowing. But handing over half the Spencer Group shares to Stella? She refused to believe Wesley or even Gerald would agree. With Stella’s words losing their sting, Elena dismissed her completely and strode into the Spencer Group building, not bothering to look back.
