Chapter 1111:

Desperately, Lisette joined in, pleading earnestly, “Elena, we deeply regret what happened. My child didn’t mean any harm. Now that we’ve apologized, can we just move forward?”

Louis, observing the spectacle quietly, finally spoke up with biting irony. “Suddenly feeling apologetic now, huh? Funny, just moments ago, you were hurling insults and threats.”

Mara’s complexion paled drastically as reality sank in. She had underestimated Elena’s significance within the family. Had she realized Elena held such favor, she wouldn’t have dared speak so rashly. With Alexander withdrawing support, their lavish days were abruptly ended.

Consumed by anger and frustration, Mara spun around and slapped her grandson sharply. “You reckless brat! Can’t you keep yourself out of trouble for even a moment? Look at the mess you’ve caused—we’re ruined!”

Brody, completely unused to reprimands, was stunned momentarily by the sudden pain. Yet, rather than tears, he violently retaliated, attacking Mara with fists and kicks and even sinking his teeth into her arm. “How dare you hit me! I’ll bite you again!”

Mara shrieked in agony, prompting Kylo and Lisette to quickly intervene and pull Brody away.

The four left the Harper estate in turmoil, their exit punctuated by screams, sobs, and bitter recriminations.

Once calm had returned, Alexander swiftly transferred sixty million to Elena’s account, immediately followed by another ten million.

Elena eyed Alexander curiously, puzzled by the second transfer.

Alexander smiled reassuringly. “The first sum is compensation, taken directly from their investment. The extra ten million is a personal gesture—use it freely to replace anything else damaged.”

Moments later, Elena received another notification. Jolie had transferred ten million as well.

With affectionate warmth, Jolie added, “And this one’s from me. Go spoil yourself—buy whatever makes you happiest.”

Warmth flooded Elena’s chest. “Mom, Dad, thank you so much.”

Cosmetics rarely featured in Elena’s daily routine, and the few perfumes she owned had been Jolie’s thoughtful gifts.

With the unexpected funds now available, Elena mulled it over and settled on creating a special dietary supplement as a heartfelt thank-you to her parents. A crucial ingredient, cinnabar, was missing from her supplies—but Wesley surely had some. She promptly messaged Wesley, requesting a small amount. Unsurprisingly, Wesley’s response was swift and accommodating. “I have cinnabar at Edgewing. I’ll arrange delivery immediately.”

To Elena’s surprise, the courier who appeared at the Harper estate’s doorstep was Charlette.

At the entrance, Charlette offered Elena a neatly packed box, remarking gently, “Wesley must value you highly. Cinnabar isn’t easily obtained, yet he’s handed over the entire stash to you.”

Accepting the package, Elena curiously asked, “Why didn’t he bring it himself?”

Charlette explained, “He’s handling an issue at the company.”

Concern flickered across Elena’s brow. Trouble at the company? “Is Joseph causing trouble again?” she asked.

Charlette hesitated briefly before responding evasively, “I’m unsure of the details. You should speak directly with Mr. Spencer.”

With a glance toward the house, Charlette said, “I’ve fulfilled my errand, so I’ll get going.”
