Chapter 1133:
“Yes, Your Highness. They’re the medical team from Gleyross Hospital assigned to care for His Majesty,” the butler answered, his voice cautious, not daring to let his guard down.
Despite being only five years old, Alistair commanded the utmost reverence from everyone around him. In the royal household, he was the cherished center of attention. To cross Alistair was to challenge the entire royal family itself.
The butler couldn’t help but pity Katy, already imagining the consequences awaiting her. How could she risk chastising the prince? Her misfortune seemed sealed.
Katy stood frozen, clinging to denial as she gazed at the butler. “What did you just call him?” Was it possible? Could this little boy truly be the prince? She struggled to believe it.
A hard edge crept into the butler’s gaze. “This is indeed Prince Alistair. Dr. Brown, I suggest you think very carefully about your apology.”
The truth hit Katy like a physical blow, and she nearly lost her balance. So it was really Prince Alistair—the child she had refused to treat and even dared to scold. Remembering her earlier words and actions, she felt as though a heavy stone had dropped onto her head, leaving her mind a blank, reeling mess. In desperation, she darted a pleading look at Dewayne, hoping for rescue.
Dewayne—the unflappable director of Gleyross Hospital—remained far more composed than the shaken Katy. Surveying the tense scene, he addressed Alistair with measured authority, “Your Royal Highness, Katy acted thoughtlessly and showed you disrespect. The hospital will handle the matter accordingly.”
His gaze shifted to Elena, his voice turning cold. “And as for you—practicing medicine without proper credentials—if anything had happened to His Highness because of your treatment, could you bear that responsibility? This time, you were fortunate. His Highness is unharmed, but that doesn’t change your reckless disregard for the law.”
A faint quirk tugged at Elena’s brow. Was this man truly lecturing her? She felt almost curious to hear the rest, given he had a protégé as unethical as Katy.
With no sign of backing down, Dewayne continued, “You’ve broken the law by acting as a doctor without a license. I’m contacting the authorities. Prepare for the consequences.”
Watching Dewayne leap to her defense, Katy’s lips curled into a self-satisfied sneer. At last, this woman would face ruin.

Alistair’s young face hardened, and he was about to step in, but Elena gently put out a hand to stop him.
Confused, Alistair looked up at her. Why would she stop him from speaking out against these wrongdoers?
Gazing at Dewayne, Elena replied in a voice as cool as glass, “Are you seriously suggesting that legal red tape outweighs a human life? It’s no wonder Dr. Brown stood by doing nothing. The disregard for human life in your hospital must run deeper than I thought.”
Dewayne fixed Elena with a harsh glare. “What did you just say?”
Elena answered with a scornful curl of her lip. “Did I get something wrong? Mr. Nguyen, have you forgotten the oath you swore when you earned your title? The very first line says that health is entrusted to us physicians. Your job is to protect lives, not hide behind procedures and let blame roll off your back.”
Alistair burst in, clapping his small hands with genuine enthusiasm. “Elena’s telling the truth! She’s a real healer, not like you fakes. If not for her, I wouldn’t still be standing here. She saved my life, and if you try anything, I’ll have my sister dismiss the entire lot of you!”
Receiving such a tongue-lashing from a young woman made Dewayne’s expression twist with humiliation. He shouted, “Talk is cheap! Saving lives is about ability, not speeches. And you, a girl without a license, have the gall to lecture me? Do you know how many patients I’ve brought back from death’s door? I stopped counting years ago!”
