Chapter 1183:

Lance dashed to Elena’s room, stopping at the doorway to fix his clothes and run a hand through his hair. Anticipation mixed with nerves made his hands tremble. Only after gathering himself did he give the door a couple of brisk knocks. A broad smile spread across his face as he greeted, “Hi…”

To his surprise, the door opened, revealing a man. Suspicion replaced his cheerful grin. “And you are…?”

From behind Avo, Elena stepped forward. The moment Lance spotted her, his whole face lit up. “El! Am I the first from the Pantheon to meet you?”

“No,” Elena replied flatly.

Lance quickly added, “Lydia doesn’t count! She’s from Houis, just like you.” There was no doubt in his mind—besides Lydia, no other Pantheon member had met El in person before him.

Just then, the man who had answered the door spoke up. “Actually, I’m the first.”

Caught off guard, Lance froze, eyeing the man with suspicion. Who was this guy who seemed to appear out of thin air?

Avo raised an eyebrow and introduced himself. “I’m Avo.”

Lance’s tone shifted to disbelief. “Seriously? You’re Avo? When did you get here?” Somehow, Avo had managed to meet El ahead of him—a fact that stung more than Lance was willing to admit.

Lance often bickered with Avo in the group chat, and seeing Avo in the flesh only made the rivalry more irritating.

“Why are you here, anyway?” Lance asked, his words laced with annoyance.

Cool as ever, Avo answered, “I came to help El pull off something big.”

Ears perking up, Lance edged closer. “So what’s the plan?”

Without hesitation, Elena made her intentions clear. “We intend to shake things up in Yoswye.”

Surprise flashed across Lance’s face at her bold suggestion. After all, he was the Prince of Yoswye. “Shake things up in Yoswye?” Yoswye was more than a country to him—it was home, and hesitation clouded his thoughts.

Elena spelled out her aim. “That’s right. My goal is to kill Torin.”

Relief escaped Lance in the form of a long breath. “You really gave me a heart attack. I thought you meant burning Yoswye to the ground. But targeting Torin? I can get behind that. Honestly, I’ve been wanting to get rid of him for ages.”

His words caught Elena off guard, far from the response she had expected. Curiosity pushed her to ask, “You mean it?”

Without missing a beat, Lance brushed past her and Avo, collapsing into a nearby chair. “Absolutely. The Duncans are all rotten, and Torin’s the worst of the lot. Since you want to go after him, count me in.” Avo closed the door to shut out any unwanted listeners.

Drawing close, the three formed a tight circle, ready to work on a plan.

With a spark of anticipation, Lance asked, “Alright, what’s the plan?” Eyes turning to Elena, Avo gave her the lead. “It’s your call, El.”

Lance’s gaze followed Avo’s, both waiting for her direction.

Breaking it down for them, Elena laid out the challenge. “Torin’s got control over the military. There’s no way we’d win a straight fight.”

Agreement showed in the way Lance nodded. Years of unchecked power had fueled the Duncan family’s growing arrogance, all thanks to Torin’s grip on the military.

Trying to keep things light, Lance tossed out a wild idea. “We could grab him in the middle of the night, toss a sack over his head, and haul him away.” Elena felt like rolling her eyes. Did Lance really think such a plan would work? With a heavy dose of sarcasm, Avo chimed in, “Why not just ask Torin to go with you?”
