Chapter 1231:
Celeste’s reluctance to produce the receipt intensified. The document clearly stated fifty million. If they uncovered her deception, how could she face them again?
Swallowing her growing anxiety, Celeste lashed out, “Cease this charade immediately! What expertise do you possess regarding fine jewelry? This represents Helena’s latest masterpiece. People of your caliber probably haven’t even encountered Helena’s name. She stands among the elite designers. Her creations remain unavailable to most, regardless of financial capacity!”
Supporters rallied around her immediately.
“Exactly—only someone of Princess Celeste’s standing could acquire Helena’s newest designs.”
“Why waste breath arguing with her? She’s clearly fabricating everything.”
“How pathetic! Try to brag a little more convincingly, at least.”
Witnessing their unanimous support, Celeste’s brief unease evaporated as she resumed her confident posture. She convinced herself that Elena had stumbled upon a lucky guess. No way could a country bumpkin possibly understand Helena’s jewelry market.
Celeste adopted her most condescending demeanor. “If you offer your apology now and swear never to seduce Torin again, I might consider forgiveness. Otherwise—”
“Otherwise what exactly?” Elena interrupted, smoothly retrieving Helena’s official price catalog. “Do you truly intend to intimidate me with your transparent boasting?”
Fury radiated from Celeste. “Who do you think you’re calling boastful? I’ll give you a piece of my mind!”
With a swift motion, Celeste tried to slap Elena. However, Elena caught her hand without breaking a sweat.
A bitter struggle followed, and rage colored Celeste’s cheeks. “Let me go! How dare a nobody like you fight back?”
Throwing a sharp look at the crowd, Celeste yelped, “Why are the rest of you just gawking? Someone—hold her down!”

Instantly, the butler hurried over, only to be sent sprawling by Elena’s quick kick. Nervous whispers rippled through the circle of socialites, but none dared take a single step forward.
Intent on making her point, Elena zoomed in on a photo and thrust her phone into Celeste’s face. “Take a look. Tell me what you see.”
“I couldn’t care less about your photos…” Celeste began, full of bluster, but something caught her eye on the screen. Suddenly, all her bravado vanished. What appeared on Elena’s phone was Helena’s secret price list. Celeste couldn’t understand how Elena had managed to get her hands on it.
Every eye in the room locked onto Celeste’s stunned reaction. Curiosity got the better of a few, and they leaned closer for a better look.
Elena turned the phone toward each one in turn, taking her time so no one missed what was on the screen.
