Chapter 1280:

She quickly shifted her eyes away, pretending she hadn’t noticed his silent message.

Wesley refused to let her off so easily. He grabbed her chin, turning her face back toward him. His stare never wavered, and a sly grin tugged at his lips. “Why bother with everyone else when I’m sitting right next to you?”

The rise and fall of his chest gave away his anticipation as he waited for her response.

Elena shot him a warning glare. “There are people everywhere,” she remarked.

Wesley gave a soft laugh and lifted an eyebrow. “So public spaces are out, but once we’re home, all bets are off?”

Flirting was the last thing on Elena’s mind, so she pressed her palm firmly against his mouth.

He didn’t seem the least bit bothered, his eyes growing even lazier as he playfully traced her palm with his tongue.

Elena jerked her hand back in disgust. “Try to behave,” she muttered.

Without missing a beat, Wesley pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her. “I won’t do anything crazy. Just one kiss.”

Elena’s eyes narrowed, not believing his words.

Wesley let out another soft laugh. “If you really don’t trust me, I’ll just handle things the way I want…”

His hand slipped beneath her clothes in a bold move.

Elena stopped him instantly. The pilot might be hidden behind the cabin wall, but Malcolm was right there with them, no barrier in sight.

Wesley wouldn’t have hesitated to take things further if left to his own devices, but Elena refused to let him.

Gritting her teeth, Elena finally gave in. “Alright. Just one kiss.”

A smug grin spread across Wesley’s face, satisfied with her answer. He leaned in and pressed his lips to hers—a brief, light touch that ended almost as soon as it began.

Elena blinked up at him, surprised at how quickly it was over.

A small arch of his brow followed. “That wasn’t enough? Do you want another?”

“Don’t even try,” Elena said, pulling away from his reach.

She had expected Wesley to push for more, but surprisingly, he kept his word and didn’t steal a second kiss.

He caught the puzzled look on her face and remarked casually, “We’re not alone here. I’d rather keep that side of you just for me.”

Only he deserved to see her at her most unguarded. He knew exactly how irresistible she was when her eyes sparkled, her cheeks went pink, and her lips were kissed rosy. He wanted to keep her beauty all to himself, hidden from the world.

Elena could only stare at him, lost for words.
