Chapter 1343:

Cathy didn’t say anything, but she didn’t deny it either.

And that silence told Yvette everything she needed to know.

“Oh my god!” Yvette gasped. “When are you and Wesley getting married? You’ve liked him for so long. This is perfect! We can even go on our honeymoons together. Can you imagine? Sunsets, cocktails… Where are you thinking? Something tropical?”

Yvette was already picturing the double dates and luxury vacations. Wesley was one of the most powerful men in Klathe. If Cathy married him, she’d get the chance to connect with him through Cathy, and no one would ever dare look down on her again.

But Cathy popped that dream bubble in a heartbeat. “I’m not getting married,” she said flatly.

Yvette blinked. “What? Why not? We’re talking about Wesley!” Was Cathy seriously turning Wesley down? Who would say no to someone like him?

But Cathy didn’t explain anything. She just gave a vague reply. “He’s got a few things he needs to figure out first.”

Yvette frowned. She still didn’t get it. “What could he possibly need to figure out? He’s Wesley Spencer.”

Then, as if a lightbulb went off in her head, she leaned in again. “Wait, is it Elena? Is she still hanging around him?”

Just hearing Elena’s name was enough to make Yvette lose her temper.

“I knew it! That witch Elena has always had a thing for stealing other women’s men. First it was Kason at that design event, and now she’s got her claws in Wesley. Doesn’t she have an ounce of dignity?”

Cathy made no attempt to correct Yvette, letting Yvette indulge in her assumptions.

Yvette was fuming. She had finally gotten a chance to grow close to Wesley, and there was no way she was letting Elena mess that up.

“We can’t let Elena get away with this,” she said angrily. “If she dares come near Wesley again, she’s going to regret it!”

Yvette looked more fired up than even Cathy did.

Cathy hated Elena’s guts, and Yvette’s ranting gave her a twisted sense of satisfaction.

But she didn’t have the guts to go after Elena herself, not with Wesley around.

If he ever caught wind of it, she’d be toast.

Pretending to be unbothered, Cathy replied flatly, “She’s not even worth the energy. Wesley will handle her.”

But right after she spoke, Yvette suddenly tugged at her sleeve.

“Cathy, isn’t that Elena over there?”

Cathy looked up, and sure enough, it was Elena.

What the hell was Elena doing here?
