Chapter 1392:
“Wesley, do you hate me for…” Carola began, but he quickly cut her off with a flat tone.
“Mrs. Stanley, let’s wait for the results first. We shouldn’t assume anything.”
Carola opened her mouth to assert their mother-son bond, but seeing the indifference in Wesley’s eyes, she fell silent, waiting for the test results.
The wait wasn’t long. Felix soon walked in with the results.
“Mr. Spencer, here’s the report,” he said, handing the report to Wesley.
Wesley silently took the report and reviewed it without showing any emotion. The report confirmed a 99.99% match.
He didn’t react, but Carola quickly stood up, her eyes locked on the paper he held.
Wesley handed it to her and said calmly, “Here’s the report. See for yourself.”
Carola took it with shaking hands. The moment she saw the confirmation in black and white, tears filled her eyes. She couldn’t hold them back. She had known it deep down all along. Wesley really was her son.
Her eyes were full of emotion as she spoke with a shaky voice.
“Wesley, I really am your mother. I wasn’t wrong. That’s why I felt that strange sense of connection the first time I saw you. It was fate. We were always meant to find each other again.”
Carola moved to hug him, but Wesley quietly shifted away, making it obvious he felt nothing.
Her hand hung in the air, and she just stood there, stunned.
“Wesley…”
“What we need to do now is find out what actually happened back then,” Wesley said coolly. Why hadn’t Carola died? Why had Lucian saved her and left Klathe with her? These questions gnawed at him.
Gerald ordered, “Tell Lawrence and Zoie to come here.”
A short while later, both of them showed up.

Lawrence, still reeling from the shock of his last encounter with Carola, entered the manor in a daze. When he found himself standing right in front of her, his face darkened with anger.
“What are you doing here? Weren’t you pretending not to know me, Carola? What game are you playing now? What’s your agenda?”
Seeing Lucian beside her only made Lawrence angrier. She even had the nerve to bring her lover with her. How bold could she get? “Carola, you’ve got some nerve showing up here with that man! Leave now! You have no right to be here!”
Gerald cut him off sharply.
“Quiet! You have no right to say anything here.”
“Dad, Carola isn’t the pure, innocent woman you believe she is,” Lawrence retorted bitterly.
“She left everything behind, lived with that guy for more than twenty years, and completely turned her back on the Spencer family. So, what’s wrong with me marrying Zoie? If anyone deserves blame, it’s Carola. She’s no saint!”
“I said shut up!” Gerald let out a long sigh, clearly heartbroken over his son’s attitude.
“Carola didn’t leave willingly. She lost her memory in an accident.”
