Chapter 1433:

Arion looked bewildered.

“Mr. Spencer, these two almost killed your mother. Why not finish them immediately?”

Wesley’s gaze grew darker, exuding a chilling, hostile presence. Those two merited a miserable death for their deeds, but Joseph—the mastermind pulling the strings—deserved a fate far worse than death. He had to let the two live for the time being to provide testimony against Joseph later on.

And there was one thing Wesley needed to confirm.

“Go take care of something for me,” he said.

Arion leaned in. Wesley murmured his orders, leaving Arion wide-eyed in astonishment. To confirm any blood ties between Joseph and Theo? The notion seemed far-fetched.

Suppressing his shock, Arion bowed his head.

“I will work on it right away.”

As Arion departed the basement, night had already descended. Wesley checked his watch, certain Joseph must have noticed by now that the two captives were missing from his place.

Joseph had intentionally concealed the two captives in a remote location, dreading that Wesley would track them down.

Wesley bet that right now, Joseph was probably as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof.

Meanwhile, when Joseph realized the two captives had vanished, he quickly commanded a search—yet uncovered nothing. Unease gnawed at him relentlessly. Had Wesley been onto something?

A cruel gleam lit Joseph’s stare. If Wesley had indeed whisked those two captives away, he had to move things up earlier than planned.

Joseph descended the staircase, and the driver inquired, “Where shall I take you?”

“To the Spencer estate,” Joseph responded.

Sensing Joseph’s fury, the driver fell silent and drove at once.

Joseph narrowed his eyes. Luckily, Elena had already been delivered into Torin’s room. If Wesley learned she had been defiled, would he still have the mood to fight?

Thinking of that, Joseph’s features twisted with venom. He called Zoie.

“Zoie, listen up. Wesley has found the people from his mother’s delivery. We must act quickly.”

Inside Plum Mansion, Zoie bolted upright.

“What did you just say? How could this happen?”

Joseph answered, “Don’t fret. No biggie. Once I seize my father’s shares, I can hold a meeting of shareholders and push Wesley aside. The Spencer Group will be in my control!”

Zoie’s pulse quickened, hesitation clouding her.

Joseph continued, “Wesley’s woman has already been tainted. He won’t have the energy for me once you leak this information to him. I’m heading to my old man’s place to claim his shares.”
