Chapter 1435:
“Fine.”
Wesley’s eyes gleamed as he embraced her gently.
Seeing him return from outside, Elena asked, “Why aren’t you at the company at this hour?”
“Who drugged you?” Wesley asked at the same time.
“Joseph,” she answered.
“Joseph again.” Wesley’s brow sank, lethal intent blazing in his eyes. Joseph was truly courting destruction.
“Again?” Elena echoed, perplexed. What else had Joseph done?
“I’ll explain along the way.” Wesley ushered her into the vehicle. He instructed the driver, “To the Spencer estate.”
Elena asked, “What happened?”
Wesley told her about the captives and the doctor’s report.
Elena’s eyes darkened.
“Seems Joseph drugged me to deal with you.”
Wesley squeezed her hand.
“Joseph could never accomplish all this unaided.”
Elena’s expression tightened, suspicion flickering in her eyes.
“Are you suggesting Joseph has joined forces with Zoie?”
Wesley lowered his gaze and pressed a light kiss into her palm.
“You’re sharp, babe.”
A crease formed on Elena’s forehead.
“So the reason we’re heading to the Spencer estate in such a rush is because you believe Joseph might put Gerald in danger?”
With a calm but cutting tone, Wesley answered, “If Joseph is courting destruction, I’ll gladly grant him.”

Joseph had spent years plotting against Wesley to bring him down, hungry for control of the Spencer Group. Now that his dark history was exposed, he had nothing left to lose.
If Joseph were heartless enough to harm his own father, Wesley would not hesitate to act.
At the Spencer estate, the butler stiffened as Joseph charged down the hallway straight to Gerald’s room. He quickly moved to block his path.
“Mr. Spencer, your grandfather just laid down to rest.”
“Out of my way!” Joseph shoved him aside without hesitation.
“You’re nothing more than the Spencer family’s servant. Who gave you the right to stand in front of me? Get out of my sight!”
Joseph barged into Gerald’s room and slammed the door behind him.
The butler tried to intervene again, but Joseph’s men held him back.
Seeing the dangerous intent in Joseph’s actions, the butler reached for his phone to alert Wesley, but Joseph’s men snatched it away before he could dial.
