Chapter 1437:
Joseph flipped to the last page of the stock transfer contract, grabbed Gerald’s hand, and forced it to sign.
Finally, Joseph held the prize he had coveted for so long. Madness flickered in his eyes.
“Haven’t you figured it out yet, Dad? I’ve waited decades for this—and now it’s finally here!” Soon, the Spencer Group would be his.
Gerald’s complexion drained of color. As Joseph’s frenzy swelled, his breaths thinned, each fainter than before.
Beyond the estate, Felix sighted the guards in black near the gate and warned, “Mr. Spencer, the whole place is sealed tight. Those men are blocking the entrance.” Elena’s brow furrowed.
“Joseph’s men.”
Gerald’s health was brittle; if Joseph struck, he might not endure.
Felix grasped the urgency as well.
“Mr. Spencer, what’s our move?”
In the rear seat, Wesley sat with regal frost. His tone was calm, nearly indifferent.
“Crash it. Break the gate.”
Felix’s pulse leapt.
“Right away!”
The luxury vehicle thundered forward, ramming the barrier.
Thud!
The guards scattered as the car burst through, skidding across the courtyard.
Wesley released Elena’s hand, brushed her cheek with a kiss, and whispered, “Stay here and wait for me.”
Wesley stepped out of the car. He raised his guns and pulled the trigger without hesitation. Before the guards even registered him, bullets shattered their knees.
Felix followed instantly, shooting at Joseph’s men.

Cloaked in black, Wesley emanated a force so lethal that no one dared meet his eyes. The gun spun once in his grip before settling steady in his hand. In under three minutes, Joseph’s men lay broken.
Wesley returned to the vehicle, swung the door open, and held his hand out to Elena. Together, they walked into the house.
Felix called Arion, commanding reinforcements and ordering the two confined in the basement to be brought up.
The butler looked at them as though salvation had arrived and cried, “Mr. Spencer, your grandfather remains in his chamber—please, rescue him!”
Wesley strode to Gerald’s room. Finding the door locked, he kicked it open. The door slammed against the wall with a boom, recoiled, and rattled to stillness.
Joseph spun at the noise, stunned as his gaze collided with Wesley’s glacial stare.
“How did you get here so fast? Weren’t you at the Peak Hotel?” Wesley’s eyes glimmered with menace. Elena emerged behind him.
Joseph’s features warped at the sight of the unharmed Elena. Why hadn’t Torin claimed her and held her captive when she was under the effect of the aphrodisiac? No wonder Wesley had come swiftly. Torin was worthless—he couldn’t stop Wesley.
