Chapter 1439:
Wesley paused, his hand suspended, then let it fall to his side. He yanked off his bloodstained tie and tossed it aside with careless ease.
“Joseph, you’re nothing but a loser.”
That single word—”loser”—stung Joseph worse than any blow.
With pain clouding his vision, Joseph stared at Wesley, fury burning in what little he could see.
“You have no right to call me a loser. Wesley, you’re just lucky. Gerald handed everything to you—that’s the only reason you’re sitting in that chair at Spencer Group. That position should have been mine! If it weren’t for Gerald’s favoritism, who would you be? You and your useless father have always stood in my way. Both of you should be gone!”
Wesley let out an icy laugh.
“You really think Spencer Group was meant for you? Joseph, that’s wishful thinking.”
If not for Gerald’s sake, Wesley would have finished Joseph off long ago. Swallowing the pain, Joseph pushed himself upright, refusing to bow his head.
“I’m a Spencer, too. Why can’t I rule the Spencer Group?”
Wesley glared at him.
“You colluded with outsiders, leaked company confidential documents, dragged the Spencer name through the mud, and even forced your own father. You have no right to the Spencer name. You’re out. This family will never have a place for you.”
Joseph slammed his fist into the table, his voice booming.
“You all drove me to this! If Gerald had ever trusted me with Spencer Group, none of this would have happened!”
Wesley’s stare turned icy.
“You’re a pathetic loser full of excuses.”
A sudden cry echoed from the hall.

“Wesley Spencer, let go of Uncle Joseph!” Theo darted in, positioning himself in front of Joseph, his glare fierce and unyielding.
“Wesley, have you lost it, beating Uncle Joseph like this? Being head of the family doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want! He’s still your uncle. Aren’t you afraid of Grandpa being furious over this?”
Wesley didn’t flinch.
“Joseph almost sent Grandpa to his grave. Tell me, why shouldn’t I break him for it?”
Theo shook his head, disbelief painted across his face.
“What nonsense are you even talking about? There’s no way Uncle Joseph would ever hurt Grandpa!”
Karen hurried over, her tone pleading.
“Wesley, there must be some huge misunderstanding. Uncle Joseph would never harm Grandpa. We’re family—let’s just talk things through.”
Zoie, who knew the truth of Joseph’s actions, shot a look at Gerald. Fear tightened her breath and made her palms sweat. Gerald didn’t do as they had planned, and Joseph now looked barely conscious from the beating. Did this mean they had failed to secure Gerald’s shares? If the shares stayed with Gerald, their entire plan to unseat Wesley and snatch control of the Spencer Group would crumble. Zoie’s chest tightened as a wave of dread swept over her.
