Chapter 1482:
“Stop with these games and hand me the three million now.”
Elena’s tone came slow and deliberate.
“What’s the hurry?”
She tapped the digits on the card and brought the phone to her ear.
Yvette clenched her jaw.
“I’m speaking to you! Why are you calling someone right now?”
Her hand darted out to seize the phone, but Elena’s grip fastened tightly around her wrist, halting her.
“Let me go!” Yvette writhed in frustration, her voice rising.
Elena’s gaze hardened into an icy edge.
“Quiet. Didn’t you say you wanted money? I’m arranging for someone to deliver it.”
The frigid authority in Elena’s eyes silenced Yvette at once, instinct overriding anger. She swallowed her outburst and pressed her lips together tightly. Then Yvette smirked derisively. Three million, and Elena needed another person to provide it? Clearly, Elena wasn’t as rich as she pretended to be. Cathy could purchase glittering jewels worth several million without hesitation. The Harper family carried prestige throughout Klathe, yet their daughter appeared destitute, unable to muster a mere three million once Wesley abandoned her.
Yvette massaged her sore wrist, her expression lined with contempt as she studied Elena. She wondered which man Elena was shamelessly calling for money.
A low, aged voice filtered through the line.
“Hello, may I ask who this is?”
Elena answered with poise, “We crossed paths at the International Advanced Medical Practices Forum. You handed me your card then.”
The International Advanced Medical Practices Forum? Quentin Jimenez, patriarch of the Jimenez family, had assumed it was a call from a junior from one of Klathe’s wealthy households. But at her words, he jolted upright, his face paling with realization. He had given his card to only one person at that forum. Could she be the Healer?
Quentin’s tone rose with excitement.

“What an honor—what prompts your call today?”
The Jimenez family had long struggled to push their medical enterprise into Klathe’s top hundred. For someone like the Healer to call him, Quentin felt both honored and surprised. Could this mean the Healer had devised a new treatment and was seeking a partnership with the Jimenez family? If so, they could be propelled into a higher echelon of influence.
It felt like stumbling upon hidden treasure, and Quentin dared not treat it lightly.
“Where are you at this moment? I’ll come personally—we should discuss this in person.”
Elena replied evenly, “There is indeed something to discuss. I’m at the entrance of Uchison Mall. Come here.”
Quentin answered without delay, “Alright, please wait a moment. I’ll be there soon.”
He ended the call at once and summoned his grandson, Mattie Jimenez.
“Grandpa, who were you speaking with just now?” Mattie asked, noting his grandfather’s unusually cautious demeanor.
