Chapter 1483:

Anxious about his stiff legs slowing him down and worried the Healer might leave, Quentin instructed firmly, “You must hurry to Uchison Mall and wait at the entrance. The Healer is there—do not allow her to depart.”

At the mention of the Healer, Mattie’s features turned grave. The entire city knew of her extraordinary reputation. Already entangled in the family’s dealings, Mattie grasped what this opportunity meant. If the Jimenez family built ties with the Healer, their name could stand alongside the Boyd family’s.

“Understood. Rest easy—I’ll ensure the Healer remains,” he said, wasting no time as he pulled on his suit jacket and headed out.

Driving swiftly, Mattie reached the entrance of Uchison Mall in no time. Stepping out, his gaze swept the area in search of the Healer. Word had it the Healer was a young woman—she would not be difficult to spot. Before his eyes found her, they landed on his younger sister, Yvette.

Yvette spotted Mattie as well and instinctively tried to slip away, but his voice rang out, calling her.

“What exactly are you doing here?” He strode toward her.

Yvette gestured toward Elena with bitterness.

“Mattie, she ruined my bag and claims someone will bring money for compensation. I’m waiting.”

Mattie’s eyes followed her pointed finger and landed on Elena. Few lingered outside the mall, and apart from Yvette, the only young woman present was Elena. Though he had never laid eyes on the Healer before, Elena’s commanding presence spoke for itself.

“Are you the Healer?” he asked cautiously.

Elena gave a slight nod.

Mattie’s eyes brightened in astonishment. The Healer was not only accomplished but strikingly beautiful. He extended his hand respectfully.

“I’m Mattie Jimenez. Meeting you is a true honor.”

Yvette’s brow furrowed, confusion clouding her face as she watched her brother’s politeness toward the woman she despised. She complained bitterly, “Mattie, why are you treating her so respectfully? She damaged my bag, and I still need to settle the score with her.”

Mattie’s expression hardened, his voice thunderous.

“Silence!” How dare Yvette prattle about settling scores with the Healer? Her idleness was already shameful, but such reckless insolence was beyond forgiveness. How could the Jimenez family have raised such an idiot?

Yvette stared at him in bewilderment, unable to understand his reaction. Did her brother favor that despicable Elena? Fuming, she shot back, “Why should I be quiet? She damaged my belongings, so she must compensate me. You’re my brother—you ought to be on my side!”

Unable to endure Yvette’s insolence any longer, Mattie’s hand cracked sharply across her cheek.

Yvette stood frozen, completely shocked by the sting of Mattie’s slap. The moment her senses returned, she burst out, “You hit me just because of that tramp? I swear I’ll tell Dad and Mom—ah!”

Her words hadn’t even faded before Mattie’s palm met her cheek a second time.

Mattie’s patience had clearly reached its limit. He realized their leniency was what had turned Yvette into someone who thought she could get away with anything. If her behavior ever brought disaster upon the Jimenez family by crossing the Healer, not even Quentin would spare her. Mattie looked Yvette straight in the eye.
