Chapter 1575:
“If that’s all, Mr. Stanley, you can see yourself out.”
Lucian’s expression darkened.
“You’re passing up a deal most men would kill for.”
Most would have leapt at the chance to claim his fortune, but Wesley barely spared it a thought. Did he even understand what he was turning down?
A low laugh slipped from Wesley as he shook his head.
“Don’t bother bringing this up again. If my girlfriend catches wind of this, she’ll raise hell, and if she’s not happy, neither am I. And trust me—if I’m in a bad mood, nobody’s having a good day. So do us both a favor, Mr. Stanley. Drop it.”
For Wesley, money had never been the prize. He already had more than enough.
Wesley refused to yield, his posture radiating unshakable certainty. Lucian, unwilling to drag the exchange into further discomfort, left without another word.
The moment Lucian departed, Felix stepped into the office.
“Mr. Spencer, Miss Harper has already gone to the Aureus Auction House,” Felix reported, crisp with urgency.
The Aureus Auction House was one of Wesley’s enterprises. The instant Elena appeared there, the report went straight to Felix, who then relayed it to Wesley.
Wesley paused mid-motion, his hand hovering over the pages he’d been reviewing. What business could she possibly have at the Aureus Auction House?
“Whatever she wants, give it to her,” Wesley said evenly, not lifting his gaze.
“Understood,” Felix replied.
As Felix turned to leave, something in the wastebasket caught his eye. He leaned down and retrieved the discarded sheet, only for his brows to shoot up in shock.
“An inheritance transfer? Mr. Stanley intends to hand over his holdings to you?”
“Destroy the document,” Wesley ordered without the slightest hesitation.
Felix’s eyes lingered on the paper for a brief moment. The value of Lucian’s estate was immense, yet Wesley dismissed it as if it were nothing. Clearly, Elena’s pull outweighed fortune itself.

Indignation flared in Felix’s chest. How could Lucian even think of trying to tear apart the couple he secretly revered? If Lucian dared return later, Felix wouldn’t hesitate to slam the door in his face.
Without delay, he fed the document into the shredder and watched as the teeth chewed it into confetti.
At the grand entrance of the Aureus Auction House, Lyla stood with her voice laced with impatience.
“Are you certain that insufferable woman came inside?”
“Yes, Miss Stanley. I watched her enter with my own eyes,” the bodyguard confirmed.
A venomous gleam flashed through Lyla’s eyes.
“That hateful Elena made my dad punish me. She won’t walk away unscathed. Come in with me. Whatever she wants to bid on, we’ll snatch it away first.”
“As you wish, Miss Stanley,” the bodyguard replied.
Inside, as the event began, Elena sat in the privacy of a second-floor room. Unaware of Lyla’s presence, she remained quiet, showing not even the faintest interest in the antiques below. She didn’t place a single bid.
