Chapter 833:

The flicker of smugness on Wesley’s face only intensified Jeffry’s displeasure. With a measured smile, Wesley declared, “Elena is my choice—and that’s final.”

Wesley quickly sped off, leaving the Harper family’s property behind.

Exhaling deeply, Jeffry had to concede that while no man seemed worthy of Elena, Wesley might be the exception. As the head of the Spencer Group, Wesley’s composure and maturity made him a potentially safe choice for Elena.

Recognizing Elena’s affection for Wesley, Jeffry resolved not to obstruct their relationship.

Once back home, Elena ascended to her room. After changing and discussing a legal matter with her lawyer, she prepared to accompany Louis to the hospital. Today marked Kiera’s release from the hospital.

In the meantime, the legal proceedings against Sylvia had been set in motion by the lawyer.

Elena’s lawyer didn’t bother keeping things private. He uploaded the court’s acceptance notice for everyone to see and tagged Sylvia directly, making it clear she wouldn’t walk away from her misdeeds untouched. The internet was no place where laws didn’t apply. Sylvia had made millions by fabricating stories and slandering Elena, but now the damage she caused was circling back to her.

When Sylvia found out that Elena had taken legal action against her, she was swept up in a wave of panic. She stopped posting and tried to disappear, as though silence could somehow erase her wrongdoings. But the case had already been set in motion. Whether she spoke up or not, the summons was on its way and would land right on her doorstep. Sylvia tried to weaponize pity with another livestream, but the platform had already cut her off for good.

This time, Malcolm didn’t need Jeffry’s orders to ensure the ban stuck. He personally saw to it that Sylvia’s account stayed dead.

With no livestreams, Sylvia’s income vanished overnight. She had spent every penny she earned on designer clothes and handbags, and now she was flat-out broke with nothing left to pawn.

Meanwhile, Louis and Elena arrived at the hospital.

Malcolm had already gathered Kiera’s belongings. The instant his eyes landed on Louis, his face hardened. He gave Louis a look full of contempt. “What are you doing back here? I’ll be the one bringing Kiera home. You have no place here.”

Louis paid no attention to his cold words and went directly to Kiera. “I came to take you home,” he said gently.

Kiera’s face relaxed, and after a moment, she gave a small, silent nod. Malcolm felt irritation build in his chest. He was about to speak, ready to push Louis out again, but Elena noticed the shift in his posture and quickly stepped in to guide him out of the room.

Once they were in the hallway, Elena turned to him and said, “Thanks for handling that.”

She didn’t mention Sylvia’s name, but Malcolm knew exactly what she was referring to. He responded with ease, “It wasn’t a big deal. I’m happy to lend a hand.”

After all that had unfolded, Malcolm found himself admiring Elena more and more. At first, he’d thought her expertise was limited to perfumery. Then, she’d healed…

Kiera had restored her hearing and her voice as if it were second nature. And now? Now he had learned that Lena and Helena, two of the biggest names in fiction, were just masks Elena wore when she wanted to tell stories. Was there anything she couldn’t do?
