Chapter 847:
Wesley himself couldn’t fathom the depth of his irritation upon seeing her with Kason, which evoked a fierce jealousy. He needed her commitment.
“You cannot join his research institute,” he firmly said.
Wesley’s eyes, jet-black and mysterious, seemed veiled in a deep darkness. As Elena locked eyes with him, her heart skipped unexpectedly. She had never seen this kind of emotion flicker in his eyes before.
Temporarily speechless, Elena’s mind scrambled to process her emotions. One thing was clear—Wesley was dead serious, his voice laced with fury that was barely held in check. His eyebrows were furrowed, his mouth set in a firm line, and his imposing aura dominated the room.
Previously, Elena would have treaded lightly around Wesley, the formidable head of the Spencer Group. Yet, oddly, he now appeared less intimidating to her, resembling a restless puppy seeking solace.
Her attention was drawn to his lips, tightly compressed.
A subtle movement of Wesley’s throat and a shadow crossed his eyes, revealing a glimpse of dark, unspoken thoughts. He sat motionless, yet Elena felt an almost laughable sensation that he was silently begging for a kiss.
Wesley’s features grew even sterner as he observed her sitting there without offering a reply. Was she really considering joining the research institute? Despite his clear superiority to Kason, she had chosen to trust Kason instead.
His eyebrows drew together even tighter, his face a portrait of brewing storms as he pondered how to deter Elena. However, before he could formulate a plan, a gentle touch landed on his lips, and he was stunned into stillness.
Without a second thought, Elena leaned in and kissed him, following her gut feeling.
Up until that moment, Wesley had been filled with plans about how to manipulate or ensnare her. But as her lips touched his, all those plans dissipated.
Elena slightly withdrew after their kiss, ready to discuss her mentor. But as she pulled away, Wesley’s large hand clasped the back of her neck.

Wesley returned her kiss with a fierce intensity, a display of passion that was unmistakably his own.
He nibbled at her lips, coaxed her mouth open, and delved his tongue inside, exploring with expertise. A quiet moan slipped from Elena before she could hold it back.
That soft sound ignited something within Wesley. His hand crept to her lower back, pulling her close, using the position to intensify their kiss.
Wesley’s thumb drew lazy circles at the base of her neck, while the deep aroma of cedar enveloped her senses. Their breathing became choppy, and the atmosphere between them grew dense with rising warmth.
Under his gentle caress, Elena’s resistance began to melt, nearly giving in to the intensity of the kiss, until she sensed his hand creeping under her blouse.
Startled by his bold move, she swiftly pinned his hand under the table and shoved him back.
Wesley’s annoyance was unmistakable. His breaths were short and sharp as he met her gaze, his eyes dark with unmistakable desire. Elena’s lips remained slightly parted, still glistening and inviting.
Wesley took a deep breath, visibly struggling to control himself.
