Chapter 1033:
His personal attention seemed to ease some of the tension and frustration that had been building among the guests.
The Yaroslav Technology team made no effort to rush anyone through or hurry them out the door. They appeared committed to giving everyone adequate time and attention.
After making his rounds, Foley made his way over to where Millie and Anika were standing.
“I owe you both a sincere apology,” Foley said quietly, guiding them to a less crowded area where they could speak more privately. “This entire chaotic situation was caused by some internal communication problems.”
Millie’s curiosity was piqued. “What exactly went wrong?”
Foley let out a frustrated sigh and rolled his eyes. “I wouldn’t bother explaining this to most people, but you and Miss Stewart deserve to know the truth. We have a new intern who didn’t understand our protocols. I mentioned we’d be having many visitors today, and I told him that our regular business contacts should all be scheduled together for a group presentation. But for investors of your caliber, I had specifically requested separate, private meetings.”
He looked genuinely distressed as he continued, “Unfortunately, the intern mixed everything up, and it turned into this disaster you see before you.”
Jace, who had been standing close enough to overhear their conversation, immediately walked over to join them.
“To be completely honest with you, Foley, this situation was handled quite poorly,” Jace said, making no effort to hide his displeasure.
Foley wiped away the beads of sweat forming on his forehead and bowed his head repeatedly in apology. “I only realized what had happened when I arrived this morning and saw the massive crowd gathered at our entrance. By that point, it was far too late to fix the mistake, so I had no choice but to allow everyone inside and then locate you separately to make things right.” He looked at each of the trio. “Miss Stewart, Mr. Armstrong, Miss Bennett—I’ve arranged a private conference room for us to talk properly. Would you be willing to follow me there now? I give you my word that unless I had completely lost my mind, I would never intentionally create this kind of embarrassing situation.”
His explanation did make logical sense.

Millie turned to exchange glances with Anika, while Jace directed his attention toward Anika as well, waiting to see how she would respond.
After a moment of consideration, Anika gave a slight nod of acceptance.
The three of them followed Foley as he led them away from the crowded hall toward a different part of the building.
Along the corridor, they passed by an office where someone was clearly being reprimanded by their supervisor.
“I’m so sorry. I know I’ve made a big mistake…” the unfortunate intern’s voice drifted out to them.
Inside the private conference room, fresh coffee was already waiting for them, the aroma filling the elegant space.
After Foley closed the door behind them, he visibly relaxed, letting out a long breath of relief.
He bowed deeply multiple times, displaying considerable respect for his guests.
“Mr. Armstrong, if I could successfully establish a partnership with the Armstrong family, it would be one of the greatest honors of my professional career. Miss Stewart, when the time comes for my company to go public, I’ll absolutely need the Stewart family’s expertise and guidance to navigate that process. And Miss Bennett, please convey my warmest regards to Mr. Elliott when you see him next.”
