Chapter 1036:
Taylor gave a quick nod and took a moment to recover. Then she started talking. “I’ve been keeping an eye on that intern like you asked me to.”
Millie nodded for her to go on.
“The kid was pretty shaken up, so once his boss walked away, I casually struck up a conversation with him,” Taylor explained. “He confessed that he’d made a mistake—he ended up mixing the VIP guests with the regular visitors.”
Millie nodded, processing this information.
“He even pulled up the text message on his phone to show me,” Taylor continued, looking directly at Millie. “I read it myself. The message told him to bunch the less important visitors into groups so Foley could spend more time with the major players.”
Important people like Jace and Anika probably figured out what was happening. They seemed to grasp the situation.
Normally, a company would likely just refuse appointments from anyone who wasn’t considered important enough. But Foley had taken a different approach—he’d told his staff to cluster the smaller fish together instead.
Earlier on their way out, Jace had actually brought this up. “Maybe he’s trying not to burn any bridges. The guy seems pretty skilled at keeping everyone happy,” Jace had said.
Millie hadn’t committed to any opinion one way or the other.
After thinking for a moment, she leaned close to Taylor and whispered some specific instructions.
Taylor nodded firmly. “I’ll handle it immediately.”
Millie watched Taylor disappear, then spent a few minutes thinking everything through before walking back to where her car was parked.
Inside her car, she kicked off her high heels and slipped on some comfortable sneakers. She grabbed a casual jacket, pulled a baseball cap low over her face, and then stepped back outside. She headed straight back to Yaroslav Technology.

The building was open to anyone today, so getting inside wouldn’t be a problem. Besides, the place was crawling with people.
She blended into the crowd the moment she walked back through the doors.
Without Jace and Anika beside her this time, she could pay closer attention to the details around her.
She made another complete circuit through the massive display hall and then pushed deeper into the restricted areas. She walked past office after office without stopping, keeping her pace steady and natural like any other curious visitor. She wandered through the research and development section and then slipped into the women’s restroom. She locked herself in a stall and sat down to wait.
She lost track of how long she’d been sitting there when she finally heard two women enter, talking while they washed their hands at the sinks.
“Do you think Foley’s strategy is actually going to work?” one of them asked.
“Who knows? Isn’t he worried about making people angry by cramming everyone together like that?” the other woman replied.
“Beats me, but if he pulls this off, then we might—”
“Hey, maybe we shouldn’t be discussing this,” the second woman interrupted sharply.
“You’re right. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”
