Chapter 1092:

Spencer was not only Foley’s close friend—he was also the team’s key technician.

Myron understood.

“Try to speak with Millie when you can,” Myron advised.

Foley nodded. He knew Millie had played a major role in everything that was happening now.

“I need a clear answer from you. If Spencer’s mother recovers and he comes back to work, what are the chances of your team achieving a breakthrough?” Myron asked.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Elliott,” Foley replied with confidence.

He sounded absolutely certain.

They had been preparing a major move, keeping everything strictly under wraps until the right moment.

Two upcoming breakthroughs, multiple overseas orders—everything had been lining up perfectly.

With Spencer’s technical skill and Foley’s sharp business sense, just a few precise moves could send the company’s value soaring. At that point, any new investment would only multiply the worth of their shares. That had been their plan all along.

But Spencer’s mother’s sudden illness had thrown everything off course.

Myron nodded, feeling more at ease now that he had a definite answer.

“You’ll probably go through several rounds of financing later, won’t you?” he asked.

“Of course. Robotics attracts major investors—it’s only a matter of time,” Foley replied.

“Good,” Myron said with a faint smile.

They exchanged a knowing look. No more words were needed.

Foley took his leave after their brief conversation.

Downstairs, someone stopped him.

“Mr. Carter, what did you and Mr. Elliott discuss?” the man asked.

Foley frowned slightly. “That’s between us.”

The man chuckled. “Don’t worry, Mr. Carter, I’m not trying to pry. It’s just that Mr. Elliott said he won’t be investing in your company anymore, so I wanted to hear your thoughts.”

Foley gave him a steady look before answering. “That’s true.”

“Alright then, fair enough,” the man said with an easy smile, and walked away.

Foley watched him go, then lifted his gaze toward Myron’s office for a moment before turning to leave in silence.

News of Foley’s visit spread like wildfire.

Rumors swirled that Myron had pressured Foley for Millie’s sake.

“Myron’s behavior is out of line. Millie caused this mess — she should face it herself,” someone muttered.

“Exactly. She shouldn’t have invested without understanding the risks,” another added.

“Are they fighting now?” someone else whispered.

“Who knows? They’ve always been close. Myron’s defended her so many times, and now he’s even leaning on Foley for her.”
