Chapter 1093:

Days passed.

On the fourth day, Millie boarded a plane to Gliphis.

That news set off another wave of gossip.

At the Watson Group office, whispers filled the air.

“Why is she heading to Gliphis?”

“No clue. Maybe she’s trying to fix things, or maybe she’s just running away.”

“She probably can’t stay in Crobert anymore. If Myron hadn’t cleaned up her mess, she’d be hiding by now.”

“I heard the board’s giving Myron a hard time too.”

“Good thing Mr. Watson divorced her early. Otherwise, who knows what would’ve happened!”

The next second, the group fell silent at the sound of a cough.

They turned and saw Eugene pushing Brandon in a wheelchair. Seeing Brandon there left them dumbstruck, as they had been talking about him.

“Mr. Watson!”

“Hello, Mr. Watson!”

Their heads dropped instantly, afraid to meet his eyes.

Brandon gave them a cold look but said nothing.

“Don’t gossip during work hours,” Eugene scolded.

They rushed to apologize.

“Yes, we’re sorry.”

“We shouldn’t have done that.”

“It won’t happen again, Mr. Watson.”

Brandon said nothing, allowing Eugene to wheel him into the elevator and up to his office.

Once inside, Eugene handed him a tablet and briefed him on the latest about Millie and Myron.

When he finished, he added softly, “Miss Watson was deeply involved in all this.”

Brandon nodded slowly.

He sat by the window, his eyes following the drifting clouds, his thoughts unreadable.

After Eugene had taken his leave, the office fell silent.

Brandon didn’t know what Myron and Millie were planning. Was Myron giving up on her because of pressure from the board? And Millie—

What was she doing in Gliphis? How did she feel about it all?

Was she hurt?

Brandon’s gaze dropped to his phone.

He found Millie’s contact and hesitated before pressing “call.” A cold automated voice answered instead.

He couldn’t help but frown slightly. She had blocked him.

The next day, word got around that Foley had taken a flight out of the country.

People only grew more puzzled by this turn of events.
