Chapter 1096:

“Looks like Millie’s reaching, hoping copper prices will soar so she can cover her losses.”

Amusement crept in as Babette mulled things over.

“A single bad decision just leads to another, and another,” she said with a sly grin. “If Millie dares to bet on precious metals, she’s finished. Now then…” Babette started giving out instructions.

Babette had every intention of driving the copper price down, just to test how long Millie could hold out, especially since she was so certain it would go up.

Not long after, her assistant came back with news.

Babette tilted her head and asked, “All done?”

“Mr. Watson wanted me to let you know…” the assistant began.

“What did he say?” Babette’s chest tightened with worry.

“Mr. Watson said your private investments are your own business. You can’t use Watson Group’s resources for them,” the assistant informed her.

Babette clenched her jaw, feeling the sting. Even now, Brandon was backing Millie! She decided then and there that they could not fault her for whatever came next.

“Use only my personal funds. Go ahead,” Babette ordered.

“Yes, Miss Watson.”

The assistant left without delay.

The days slipped by, each one stretching longer than the last. Seven days after Millie signed contracts with Yaroslav Technology, Myron still stood by Millie in public, speaking out with confidence in her choices, which led many to say he was completely blinded by affection.

What most people did not know was that, far away in Flaville, Foley and Spencer were spending that very day waiting together outside an operating room.

“Try not to worry. Your mother will be just fine,” Foley said, trying to offer comfort.

Spencer gave a nod, but nervousness still showed on his face.

Eventually, the doors to the operating room swung open, and Spencer’s mother was wheeled into the hallway.

Both men hurried over, anxious for news about her condition.

“The procedure was a success, and you can relax now,” the doctor announced with a warm smile.

Hearing those words, Spencer broke down in tears, unable to hold back his relief.

Foley was just as moved, his excitement hard to contain.

Luckily, everything about the operation had gone as planned.

Their biggest worries were finally behind them.

Turning to Foley, Spencer said, “Thank you so much. I know this has been a lot for you. Let’s go on a livestream tomorrow and set the record straight.”

With clear enthusiasm, Foley replied, “Absolutely!”

When the eighth day rolled around and noon arrived in Crobert, Yaroslav Technology’s official account started a live broadcast, with Foley taking the lead and stepping onto the screen first.

Since the live stream was being held in Flaville, there was a slight signal delay at the start.
