Chapter 1116:

She pushed through the door and positioned herself directly in front of Brandon’s massive desk, glaring down at him as he calmly reviewed some documents. She was too angry to even form words.

Brandon didn’t bother looking up at her. He simply continued reading his files with complete focus, leaving her standing there to stew in her own frustration.

The two of them remained locked in this silent standoff, neither one willing to break first.

The office stayed eerily quiet except for the occasional sound of Brandon turning pages.

Eventually, the desk phone rang, shattering the tense silence. Brandon reached over casually and pressed the speaker button. Eugene’s voice filled the room.

“Mr. Watson, everything on my end has been handled successfully. Miss Watson’s investment funds in copper have all been completely withdrawn. I personally supervised the entire process to ensure there were no mistakes,” Eugene reported efficiently. “I’m preparing to bring the detailed financial data up to your office right now.”

“Okay,” Brandon replied curtly before disconnecting the call.

Babette had been standing there silently for what felt like an eternity, and she finally couldn’t contain herself any longer.

“Brandon, you might be the CEO, but I’m the one who built that entire department from the ground up! You have no right to do this to me!” she burst out.

Brandon kept his attention fixed on the documents in front of him, not acknowledging her outburst in any way.

Babette’s frustration reached a boiling point, and words came tumbling out. “You’ve always preached about winning fairly through skill and hard work, but you’re the one who’s completely biased! You’ve been helping Millie behind the scenes this whole time! How am I supposed to compete fairly when you keep sabotaging me?”

Only then did Brandon pause in his reading. He slowly lifted his eyes to meet Babette’s, his expression completely unreadable. “Do you honestly still believe you have a chance of winning?” he asked quietly.

Babette held his gaze with defiant determination.

“The copper prices soaring was nothing but an unfortunate accident,” she insisted forcefully. “I’ve had my people investigate it thoroughly. The mining company deliberately concealed critical information from everyone. Millie just happened to get lucky this one time! It was pure coincidence and nothing more! It’s not like she actually possesses any real talent or skill. And let me be perfectly clear—the way everything played out isn’t my fault at all!”

The words poured out of Babette in an anxious rush, but Brandon remained completely still and silent, simply watching her until she finally ran out of steam.

“Are you finished now?” he asked when she fell quiet.

Babette pressed her lips together tightly, refusing to say another word.

“So, according to your reasoning, winning the Yaroslav Technology project was just Millie getting lucky, and the copper investment situation was also pure luck on her part?” Brandon questioned with calculated calmness.

“Exactly! Every single time she just happens to stumble into success, or maybe with Yaroslav Technology, she and Foley were actually…” Babette’s voice faded away as she caught sight of Brandon’s suddenly sharp, dangerous expression.

“And what about the gold investments?” Brandon pressed forward relentlessly. “Was that success also just her getting lucky?”
