Chapter 1129:
Moments later, Myron reached out, his palm warm and reassuring as it covered hers.
“I’m sorry,” Millie said softly.
“Don’t say that.” Myron shook his head, responding softly, “You don’t owe me anything. If anything, I’m grateful you’ve let me stand beside you through all of this.”
Millie lowered her gaze, letting the silence fill the space between them.
With a deep breath, Myron pulled her gently into his embrace, allowing her to rest her head against his shoulder.
The divider in the car blocked out the outside world, leaving them cocooned in their own private haven. Neither of them spoke for a long time.
Words weren’t needed; the quiet comfort they shared said everything their hearts wanted to express.
A long stretch of quiet passed before Myron broke the silence. “I want to share something with you, Millie—a secret,” he added softly.
“What kind of secret?” Interest sparked in Millie’s eyes, and she tilted her head toward him.
“I love you completely. My body, my heart, my mind, and every part of my soul belong to you,” Myron admitted, his voice gentle but unwavering.
Millie’s cheeks warmed, and she gave his arm a playful smack. “You can’t just say things like that out of nowhere!”
“I just needed to be certain you understood how deep my love was, so I wanted to say it out loud,” Myron said, his voice completely sincere.
He continued, “When I can’t let you go at night, it’s because I love you, not because I’m fixated on starting a family.”
Having children of their own was never the main reason for his affection, and he had always been aware of her health situation. Welcoming a child together would be a joy, but it wasn’t something he demanded.

All of this was his decision, and there was no reason for her to carry any guilt even if she could never get pregnant again.
A deeper shade of pink crept across Millie’s face.
Fortunately, the divider kept their conversation private, sparing Millie from the driver’s ears. If not for that small mercy, she would have wanted nothing more than to disappear on the spot from sheer embarrassment.
Even though she knew Myron was being sincere and his words came straight from the heart, she still couldn’t help but feel bashful.
Soon, the car rolled to a gentle stop outside the grand entrance of Elliott Mansion.
Heat crept up Millie’s cheeks as she hurried out of the car, casting a sharp look at Myron before marching off.
A soft laugh slipped from Myron as he watched her go. He’d once sought out Alexia’s professional opinion on Millie’s medical condition.
Alexia hadn’t sugarcoated anything—if they wanted a baby, IVF was their best shot.
If they went down that road, Millie would face rounds of injections, medication, and endless treatments. Worse still, after enduring all that hardship, there was no guarantee it would work.
The thought of Millie suffering through that was unbearable to Myron, so he chose to let nature take its course.
Instead, he resolved to pour his energy into raising Ari with care. Just as he’d promised Millie, he saw Ari as his own, no matter what their family tree said.
Blood ties meant little compared to the bond they’d built.
Days slipped by quietly.
Another week passed in a blur.
