Chapter 1154:
“Alright then,” he said pleasantly, before turning to the chosen representatives.
“Let’s move to the meeting room next door.” This round, exactly twenty companies had been selected, intentionally matching the number from the previous time. Millie and her friends were among them.
As they made their way toward the meeting room, Millie stood and immediately spotted Babette. Babette let out a disdainful snort and walked past without a glance. Millie frowned slightly, puzzled.
A few others joined her group as they continued down the hall, each representing different companies. As Millie and Taylor made their way forward, they spotted Jose walking ahead with his team, followed closely by several others.
“Millie, what brings you here today?” someone asked, feigning surprise.
Millie met the person’s eyes calmly.
“We’re all here for the same reason, aren’t we?”
Another person standing nearby let out a mocking laugh.
“The same reason? Do you even have the money for this?”
Millie said nothing; she simply smiled. Taylor, walking beside her boss, immediately spoke up.
“Sir, please watch your words.”
The man only sneered before turning and walking off. Millie was already drawing plenty of attention, so even this small exchange didn’t escape notice.
Still, apart from Charles and his companions, most people were there merely for the spectacle. And truth be told, many quietly agreed with the person who had spoken earlier. Even if Millie had money, they doubted she was qualified to compete on their level. To them, she was just a pretty face propped up by Myron. What right did she have to talk so boldly among them?
Charles was about to intervene, but Millie stopped him with a subtle gesture.
There was no need to fight them. Verbal sparring wouldn’t change anything; only strength could silence doubters.
“Let’s go.” Millie took the lead and guided her group toward the meeting room.

Standing at the entrance, Babette watched with a faint, satisfied smile.
“It seems everyone knows her for who she really is,” she said smoothly. Those around her nodded in agreement.
“How could Millie ever compare to you? She’s nothing more than a pretty decoration.”
“Exactly. If it weren’t for Yaroslav Technology’s meeting today, she wouldn’t even be sitting in the same room as you.” Their flattery pleased Babette. Yes, she would make sure Millie lost this round. Millie didn’t deserve a place in this project.
But Millie herself appeared completely unfazed, either unaware or simply indifferent to Babette’s hostility. She calmly led Taylor and the others inside and took her seat without hesitation.
Once everyone had settled, Foley nodded to his assistant to close the doors. The discussion began.
“Ladies and gentlemen. I won’t waste time with pleasantries. We all know why we’re here,” Foley began briskly. Then, smiling slightly, he continued, “This time, I’m raising one hundred and fifty million dollars. Considering the recent surge in my company’s valuation, it’s only fair that the share price increases slightly from the last round, as mentioned in the official notice you’ve all received.” The room collectively nodded.
Given Yaroslav Technology’s explosive growth, a higher share price was to be expected. No one thought it unreasonable; some even believed it was still too low.
